Thanks for checking out my sketchbook again. As always nice work here. Maybe a slight critic, on the second one off your last post, the outline around the fruit kinda works against your values when defining the shape. Worked better on the skulls, I think the ones on the fruit are a bit to harsh. On the vase, the line fades where the value is lighter while on the fruit the weight remains the same, probably would have worked better if you did it like that on the fruit aswell.

Thanks for the crit, Topcross! I'm just happy that you could tell what the objects in the image were haha. Seriously though, I'll keep that in mind as I'm also trying to figure out when to use the lines and when not to as I'm trying to think about edges as well instead of just using lines for everything like I used to. I'll also have to spend a little more time on future drawings as I kind of gave up on it and I didn't put too much effort on the fruit...thanks again, man.

Edit: I know the issue lies with both fruits, but thinking back on it, I was trying to figure out how to separate the fruit from the vase...I'll also have to try that out again.

You need to take the trad stuff further. There are too many lines remaining which doesn't actually happen in nature. Getting that line made just from change of tones is tough with charcoal, but well worth it.

    Thanks, BlackSpot and WRappii.

    Time for an update.

I just finished this troll from Warcraft and got some good feedback from the critique section, but I found it difficult to correct the image and the more I worked on it, the muddier it looked. So, I'm calling it done and I will do another one.

Wow.. love the figures in your most recent post. Beautiful gesture and pulling forms..
You've got some great work here.

However, your still lifes seem a little off.. I think it's partly because of the lack of texture (and thus, the plastic digital feel sets in), and partly because of white highlights. Light is colored, remember.
