    need help with music

    although this is slight getting away from the standard on the board i was hoping someone wouldbe able to help me as i wouldnt know where to start

    i play the electric guitar and have been wondering for some time on how to get something of mineson the computer in mp3 form

    im assuming i might need a special program and a special hookup but i dont really know specifics, if anyone can help it would be appreciated utterly :-)

    If you have some kind of microphone that can be hooked up to your computer's sound card, that would be one way. The sound quality would not be good, though.

    All you need is a speaker cable, and and something to covnert the tip to the right size so it will plug into your guitar. Then just get any program you please that can do direct audio recording.
    Don't just practice. Also Practice the right things, the right way.

    pencil soldier, jus a reg speaker cable? do i plug that into my soundcard ?

    Hmm, If you have a decent amplifier, just put a cable from your output to your microphone or soundcard input (use suchs little mini/normal jack cap).
    To get the best sound kwality, search the internet for a good recording program. there are many good shareware versions.

    you are correct sir. Just plug it into the Line In port. Casman pretty much nailed it on the head.
