    Character Concept - Faces

    New Image added at Bottom

    -----------------------------------

One of my more polished videogame character concepts, so I thought I'd add it to my CA portfolio. I hope to add more as they're finished and released from NDA.

He's is a large brutish alien character. He's supposed to appear very tough and dangerous but still have some humor to his expression.

I had a lot of fun rendering the skin and eyes and trying to create some personality.

Comments and critique are most welcome.

    Thanks for looking!

    I love this, it's rendered beautifully. :3

Reminds me of Bacatta from lands of Lore Throne of Chaos. In a good way. Also a little bit like Charles Gray as Mycroft Holmes.

    New image added!

I just got the green light on this one as well. I hope I can continue to add more in the coming weeks.

I was asked to create an intimidating, humorless alien figure here. As always, my goal was to fill the face will soul and intelligence.

I had a great time coming up with the design and creating some interesting forms and textures. I'm really loving rendering these jeweled, alien eyes.

Comments and critique are most welcome.

    Thanks for looking

You got some nice textures on here. That must have taken quite some time. It all blends very smoothly together. Nice job!

Very nice! Makes me wish I could paint.

I used to have an invisible freind once, but then he stopped believing in me.

Awesome work can I ask if you used any custom smudge brushes? I love how you blended the colors together

Thanks for all of the great comments everyone.

-DemonMick - I use a standard smudge brush (see attached image), but I use it a lot. I'd say I spend one third of my time laying down paint with a brush and two thirds smudging it into place. I hope this is helpful.

Truly beautiful creatures, and with humanity as well. I'd love to see full body as well and the character you could convey though it.

    New Artwork Added

Wow, it's been a year? I really didn't add to this thread as much as I thought I would!

I've got a new face to add to the group. A human this time, but with some fun exaggerated proportions. I've also tried to be a lot more painterly on this one and I've even dressed it up with some canvas texturing.

Thanks for looking Comments are most welcome.
