Ah thanks again. Well i mean it's just a compilation of assignments the first semester is kind of boring but it picks up the big ones i posted already are the ink drawing i did with just cross hatching and the value drawing of the knapsack, we also did a character design btu ti was on a board with a weird texture and in ink it was really strange not my thing. The thing about the first year is there are a lot of medium constrictions but by 3rd year we do whatever we want and have our own little studio.

Heres some moleskin drawings sorry for the bad photo quality i really need a scanner

Hey Stephane, good to see that you are doing studies. That'll definitely help in the long run.

Also, as far as anatomy is concerned I would recommend buying Richer's book and copying the diagrams from there. That + a lot of life drawing is what really helped me with geting the proportions right.

    I like the owl tough,

    Continue comme ça.

Cool stuff steph I like the colors of the cover piece.

" For those/ the bug ones do you control your opacity by hand like feng? "
I use penpressure on opacity and flow for my drawings. For paintings sometimes i adjust it manually.

Thanks for all the support you guys! These past couple of days have been really good to me art wise i think its school starting up again getting me back in the groove.
Whirly Thank you sir and yes i painted the bear although i didn't pimp out his head i will eventually i just felt like rendering him for fun
Lakai Cool I'm just recently trying to control my line weight better and actually take advantage of opacity sensitivity for painting instead of just color picking every single time
    ArtemisDragon thank you
Arteast Yes thank you that's a good idea, I'm thinking of switching the girl to a more witch doctor/voodoo vibe so maybe yeah i can incorporate the same symbols thank you

Here is the bear i rendered for fun and the finished album cover. I still see a ton of flaws in it that drive me nuts but he loves it so its time to let it go and move on, the type is still being worked on he wants something kind of like Shpongle but my type skills are awful so if anyone has any suggestions or is good with that it would be most appreciated. I still have the inside/back/ CD images to make so that's coming.

    Hey there,

Your life drawing / anatomy studies could use some increase in accuracy. Otherwise you have some pretty solid pieces (dragon fruit/owl/portrait in your avatar).

    So keep going!

Here's some more stuff from the past two weeks.
I really need to start filling up my pages especially with those expensive moleskines, might as well put them to good use.
Feelin kind of in a slump these days not feeling much progress but I know deep down everyone no matter how good has that.

Still trying to get out of this slump.
I saw a quote from Elwell today in someone's signature that was really helpful:
"Everybody sucks when they start. Everybody sucks from time to time, no matter how much experience they have. You have permission to suck. What you don't have is permission to make yourself miserable."

Here's some stuff i found from last semester.

Here's some more stuff from this past semester.

That shrubbery thing is the first acrylic painting I'm kinda proud of, starting to get the whole cool/warm mentality when I'm painting. I read James Gurney's (the guy who made Dinotopia ) Color and Light and it was extremely helpful, i recommend it to anyone having trouble painting.

No wonder that you’ve improved so much lately, you are drawing with a frantic pace,
I think that no one would dare to step on the line with you. Your dedicated moments are
reaping off the crops now, just like a bear crops of pieces from the wooden dock. I think
that it’s a swiftly smart move for you to do all those face and pose studies lately. You have
a durable mindset with some high quality will, a combination which is leading your steel
ship in a right kind of direction. Keep slipping and ripping out the flesh from between
    the necromancers ribs.
