What artist inspires you the most?

I'd have to say that James Hawkins possesses such a rich ability to sketch and render characters. His work for Gears of War is such a joy to look at. Every time I see his stuff, I want to overhaul everything I do to find my own style.

Bouguereau, Frederic Leighton...to name my two favourites.

Also, Goldenwolf of Deviantart. I love her traditional paintings and themes. Then again, I'm baised because I'm a huge werewolf nerd. Haha.

You wouldn't happen to have a link to some of his stuff do u? or to some of the gears of war 3d stuff? I've been looking for a good source but it seems like all the links to it are dead that i happen upon.

    Some loose examples:

Character designs: Kekai Kotaki, Dean Holdeen

General: Mathias Verhasselt, Maciej Kuciara, Syd Mead, Feng Zhu, Daniel Dociu

Ok if I start now I'll be doing this all day, lol. But yeah.....if I see any of their works I usually cream my pants and have a sudden urge to do art for 5 hours straight.

I don't know about 'the most' but an artist I discovered recently whose work really drew me in in Keith Thompson:

Andrew Jones, Bumskee, Beksinski, Giger, Alex Grey, Dore', Leonardo, Frazetta, Henry Yan, etc, etc, etc... Way too many to name. Hopefully some day they will be only artists I admire and not constitute so much of what I create.

Too many that I don't know the name of. I remember when I first started here I was stuck drawing anime like many beginners. Saw some of Gez Fry's stuff and was inspired by it being anime but not crappy like most. He knew what he was doing so I knew that to get to that level you have to drop the anime when learning. Probably the best inspiration I had.

Nowadays too many to list. Lord I'm inspired every time I just look in people's sketchbooks here.

    J. Manly and Fellah was of my initial inspirations but Coro, Rembrant, J. Dillon, Sparth, Tin Foil, Alex Androv, the impressionists Pissarro, Renoir and Monet and quite a number of other people.

Michelangelo, yigitkoroglu, Guido Reni, andreasrocha, Rubens, Jaques Louis-David, Andrea del Sarto, Bernini... And this girl, Icula. Her stuff is amazing, I practically bounce out of my chair every time I see she's uploaded a new painting.

If I had to single out a particular artist, I would answer (whom I'm actually friends with on Facebook and DA). Here's some of her best stuff:
