    ThaiThanh Do's Portfolio

My name is Thai Thanh Do.

I'm working as a freelance illustrator now.
before that was a concept artist for a small company in 2009
For a long time of self taught drawing, i drew many kind of style and media.
But , feel the lack of much things: anatomy, composition , theory of color, expression.v..v.. i still finding the way to go thought art.

This time, i became serious about learn to draw real life and trying to learn figure drawing.

Came back to ConceptArt.org. I hope to hear your opinion about my works and advices to go up.

I will keep this portfolio and sketchbook updating, can you come again and go with me ?

Thank a lot for your reading and advices.

You seem to have a good grasp on cartoon-ish characters but your realistic characters are not as successful. I think you would benefit greatly from taking figure drawing lessons (keep doing this through the years and you'll find your work will improve immensely). I do like your loose painterly style better (the boy looking at the sunset with the bird especially).

Also, I find a lot of your work to be grayed down and a tad muddy. I am not sure if you are traditionally or digitally, but I would use more saturated colors either way. Use less white and black to lighten and darken and use something with a bit of color to it instead. This will also help with cohesion as well.

The first couple I thought were coming across a little flat. The depth could have been pushed just a little more. But as we move down the list they get much better.
I really like the line-work based images as there is a stronger division between items.
I am a big fan of Iconic looking images.
