Michael Regina's Thread - My Latest Paintings and Doodles

Hi everyone! I decided to open my own sketchbook. I have one new piece to show you today. This one is a part of a larger series I have been creating around imagination pieces. I decided to more epic. I hope you like it and I look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts!

Haha, I love the concept! Lots of action, and great colours. I think it would be even better if the details were fleshed out more I look forward to seeing more!

Thanks! Yeah that was the one thing I couldn't quite decide on was whether I should tighten it all up a bit more, but I felt that the concept was holding up well enough to let it be. I didn't want to over work it either!

I've started doing speed paintings off of quick sketches in my notebook. I had completed two of these little alien heads and knew I just had to paint them for fun. Both of them done within an hour.

Working on a pieve of fan art for Kazu Kibuishi's Daisy Kutter. She's one of mt favorite all time characters and Kazu one on my favorite creators. I've been privileged to work on three of the Amulet books and owe much of my progress in painting to him and his knowledge, and input. And just letting me be a part of his fantastic series. So' here's my prelim sketch and a shot of the grayscale process so far. Update more as i go!

I... I think I really like your concepts too. I mean, I'm just giggling in my seat looking at the alien invasion one and the one with the cowgirl. xD

Well thank you, Anisette! It's been a lot fun just letting the imagination run wild. Here's an update on my Daisy Kutter painting. Still working through the grayscale phase.

Finally finished my Daisy Kutter fan art. Really enjoying playing in that world. Daisy was such a great comic. If you guys haven't read Kazu's comics, please hop over to www.boltcity.com and check it out. Let me know your thoughts as well.

Here's a quick painting I did while making a landscape study. Got inspired and added a monster. Really get inspired by stuff by Jamie Jones and big behemoth monsters. I need to develop one of these further soon.

I decided to take my recent sketch, “The Master of the Valley” and develop it further. It was a ton of fun as I found a new brush setting that got me the loose painterly feeling I was looking for in the first place. Really happy with how it came out. It’s y first foray into this sort of thing. I hope to do more pieces in this general feel. Though giant monsters behind them may not happen much… They scares me!

I decided to go nastalgic for awhile and paint some fun portraits of Disney villains. I decided to start with Jafar. Here's my work in progress shots. I'll upload more as I go.
