    Ivan Jarvis sketchbook

Hello concept art my name is Ivan Jarvis. I'm 21 years old and I was born and raised in mexico but I've been moving around north america since I was 8 and i'm currently living in Canada. Theres so much I need to learn art wise, so I encourage all of you to critique my art! It really helps me out.

I've been working on this the past 3 days. Finally finished it. Please tell me what you guys think, I hope you enjoy.

    UPDATE JAN 2012

I dig the traditional media you've for on here. Very strong/stark contrasts.

    Keep posting!

    Hi SkinnyFists!

Nice sketchbook here, i loved that second drawing on post 5.
Don't know why, but i loved the way you do the faces, kind of distorted and all, the expressions, you surely have a strong own style, very beautiful.

    keep going, waiting for more

Thanks everyone your words mean alot to me.

I really need help with this piece and I would appreciate it if you guys gave me your thoughts on it. I've been working on it for so damn long (months and months) and it just keeps changing and changing. Now when I look at it I get so frustrated because I don't know what to change about it. I need to get this finished before Feb 10th because thats when I'm printing my pieces for an upcoming art show.

    Heres the image

    Help me out here guys!!

I really like your style its very original to me adleast,
with the black guy in the fields i would just clean up the random brush stokes
here and there, its got such a dark moody atmosphere to it doesn't seem like you
need to change much, maybe just showing more form of the dude,
    pretty sweet works!!!!

keep up the good work! Really affecting feelings and marks in your drawings. Perhaps incorporating some of those lines into your digis.

Did you finish the dog piece? For me the issue is with the arrangement of the dogs. The black dogs are on the same plane, and are the same distance from the central white dog; therefore the white dog on the right seems out of place--maybe removing it completely? It is pulling a lot of my attention from the other parts because it's pops from the dark. Anyway, the entire mood of the piece is great; gives me a feeling of deja vu and waking from a dream.

noo i haven't finished it yet. I like the white dog but i'll play around with his placement and make him a bit darker so he doesn't pop out so much. thanks man!!
