Its' free and it takes less than 10 seconds!
Very inspiring! And look out for the Life Force Sucking Kitten.
Hey last few updates are looking great. Love your rocks and crystals. I must try some of that business soon.
Hope single life is working out for you. I have a very young family and finding time and energy to do art is tricky. Its brilliant but wish I had made better use of my time when I was single! Make the most of it dude
Black Spot - Thank you so much, it's good to hear! I'm participating in the free composition workshop, it's awesome to receive feedback from Jason
TheFlyingPlatypus - Thanks! That dude is seriously crazy.
fatman274 - Thank you, single life is finally paying off Energies are higher than ever, working my ass off and creativity is at its highest peek. Nothing to disrupt it.
Yep, so I'm actively looking for work. I'm not satisfied with the freelance work I get right now. It takes a lot of time to do and it doesn't pay right now, maybe I'll come back to it later.
Single life is great, grief is finally over (took about a month). A good dose of anger took care of it and it's gone, probably the flight to Ireland and talks with friends helped as well! So, extremely energetic about doing art and going on strong.
There is a sure way.
On the last master study, you got the structure of the building spot on, but fell down when adding figures, which seems be a common theme. Don't think of them as figures, but as inanimate shapes to start with. Check and double check your proportions. I don't know how you're working and if you're observing them at the same size as your painting. Do you have this same problem drawing your fantasy figures? Like you start in one place and you have to resize/shift stuff around to make it fit.
Hey, long time no post! However, things are running very nicely over here.
April was a hell of a productive month, very proud of myself
Was a little lazy about posting stuff here and elsewhere, so excuse me for this.
Got a daily deviation on deviantart on a homework piece for college. It's an achievement for me!
Life is back in line, flowing so nicely. Going to have a holiday break from college for a little over a month, a bit sad since I'll miss the classes so much. No work just yet, but it's an opportunity to look for some during this holiday.
All right, some replies-
Black Spot - No, mostly I don't have to resize. Sometimes I resize to create more interesting proportions. Yes, I work with the reference next to the study and they are 1:1. I believe it just needs more practice since I'm just not yet good at doing studies.
Thank you for the reply!
Betty86 - Thank you! Glad my character are of interest
Posts, beware, the massive dumpings of drewarings below-
sorry for the messiness of this all!
Thanks Black Spot!
This sketchbook is celebrating three years! Oh my god, I better speed up and become better
HUGE update. Yeah, last update was... 2 months ago. I've been busy and still am!
I'm getting trickles of freelance coming my way and during April I had the opportunity to work for a studio on site for a really short trailer, it was successful from what I understand and I'm really happy about it. I did the concept art, a bit of graphical design and matte painting. Gave it my best, hopefully the project gets further funding and I get hired to continue working on it
Anyway, I dump here the biggest update ever I think. College homework, personal stuff and an idea I did for my portfolio online (by hiring and imaginary ninja to be my agent).
Also, started doing a short illustrated story of my own - posting here two frames from the story.

Very nice visual tyle and some fun Ideas. I rather like the sharpener monster.
Gorgeous work man. Love this recent direction but particularly love the rooster dude in 603!Ace.
Hey, first time in yout SB and great great evolution. I Really love the colors... would like to know the process of painting. because the fluid and vivid colors are amazing
Congratulations a lot.
Sorry for my bad english
nice one man, the squid painting is so good, and the colors there are excellent !
my humble sketchbook :]
Staal Sander - Thanks! I love my sharpener, it was about time I gave life to the little monster
fatman274 - Thanks man! Thanks for the kind words!
Gisaiagami - You're welcome any time for more updates
I can't really explain the process in a few words but might post a tutorial on this, it might help me figure more things about my own work flow.
Kathleen Hang - Thanks Kath! More creative is the way to go, for sure!
omer sharon - It's good to see you around these parts mate, really good
Thanks, many people would disagree with you on the squid painting since nobody really understood what it was about - mainly because there was no real point behind it and I was only testing some new colors
All right, an update!
Been busy with some freelance, got a bit of really interesting design work with pencil cases. Exciting and fun! Finished a character design project for college and am happy that I got more time to pursue my own stuff now. College is teaching me a lot and now I have the time to show you what I can do.
Also, booked a flight with my gf to Germany and Holland for a couple of weeks this August! A well earned educational trip
Another one to add to my favourites list. Love the bird man.
Link below to my sketchbook
great stuff vlad, you have a good head for design, something I need to work on myself.
glad you are getting some freelance gigs.
keep up the good work.
Strenuous last couple of weeks with the things heating up again in my country. Le sigh.
I hope you're doing all right, I'm swell and looking forward to my vacation this August. College lessons in the nearby future are cancelled so I have the time to shift some of my concentration from homework to other things.
Work on my portfolio more, do more studies, paint loads of skies and clouds.
We started learning ZBrush in college, I was taken into its loving arms almost instantly. A couple of busts will be posted below.
I'm having a great difficulty with sculpting eyes in ZBrush. Also bought one of Eytan Zana's composition videos and learned how he works the first steps of his works.
Thank you for the comments
CarlaPrada - Thanks!
Black Spot - Well, not at all. I'm jumping between interests >.>
Sushy - We'll be seeing you there !
GrayPersona - Thanks Sergey! You keep up impressing the whole college too
Recent Works -
Cheers and have a great rest of the week!
Marcelloo - Thanks buddy! I actually kept them up! Hehe
I had no college classes this past week and a bit because of what's going on in my country, missing it a bit but was busily progressing in the direction I want that it mattered little.
It's not pleasant to be here right now but it matters little to my own growth, plus I don't watch the news. Why would I? Negative programming and it only scares the poop out of people even more.
The social interaction with other classmates is dear to me and this I miss. In 5 days I'm off to my vacation, going to fill a sketchbook to the brim and meet some people
Studies I did recently, of two of Adam Paquette's luscious environments, two studies for the Plein Air FB group, one study for no particular group and a real failed portrait for a small project I'm trying to develop. Oh, and a personal work that I really enjoyed doing.
A tiny update before going to my vacation (wooohooo!), a painting I'm really proud of!
Also, tried to draw a woman yesterday and the realization that I really suck at anatomy (especially what's beneath the chest) is exceptional! Haha! Need to work on that ASAP.
Putting here only the good picture, the woman one is too embarrassing to proceed with...
I love characters and environments and I think I abandoned the character side of things for too long now.
Cheers, see you soon (Danke, bis bald!)
nice colors overall on that last environment, that green in the middle though could use some adjustment to lower the value and saturation,as
it competes with your focal point(the building on the left).
keep it up vlad!
