Jon Stewart's viewership #s beating all of fox news

Interesting bit of news. Probably not of interest for fans of fox and friends "Jon Stewart’s Ratings Are Now Higher Than All Of Fox News". Personally i've been a fan of Jons for quite awhile. It's good to see he's getting the viewership/recognition he deserves.

Jon Stewart is the biggest threat to Fox News’ future out there. He is literally teaching his audience, which is bigger than FNC’s, how to see through the partisan propaganda that Rupert Murdoch has based his network on. Stewart is educating an entire generation of viewers on how to watch cable news, or more specifically how not to watch Fox News.
Unless Fox News can figure out a way to attract younger viewers, they are facing a future where their audience will eventually, literally die off. A 2010 survey found that the average age of the Fox News viewer is 65 years old. Fox has the oldest audience on all of cable. (FNC’s audience is older than The History Channel, The Hallmark Channel, and The Golf Channel).
    One can but hope.

Only The O’Reilly Factor (2.8 million) drew more total viewers than The Daily Show (2.3 million).
    ugh...

O'Reilly is one of those things I don't undertand about the US.

*Insert some quote about comedy being based on truth.

But no, I like Stewart. Sure every news or media has a political agenda nowdays. But Stewart doesn't feel like he's constantly pushing an agenda by having to skew the truth or overlook certain facts. Just feels like he's saying what he believes.

I like the O'Reilly Stewart interviews haha.

I believe it's a dying breed those who listen and believe everything they hear, and I hope it is.

It was unfortunate when my grandmother visited that I now realize how narrowminded she is after I heard her utter how much she loved Bill O'Reilly, but I'm lucky my Pop never listened to her and became the man he is. A very even minded person who just hates stupid people ;D

I hope its a generation thing, though I don't put it all on that :B

O'Reily is at least is one of the less odious pundits on Faux News. If you want to see/hear worse, try searching for Coulter, Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh, and Savage. Good lord, the rage those names' biles incite in me is enough for me to have an aneurysm and go on a killing spree as an undead zombie.

Still, good news, anything that puts a dent in the lying propaganda machine that is Murdoch's News Corp. is a good thing.

At least you didn't blame it on the Jewish bankers because that would be ignorant and racist as opposed to being just ignorant.

Feel like we're getting off on a different topic but eh whatever. But the whole European Bankers. If your talking about the Big Six thing and the CEO's of the companies that own a majority of television. Thats a different story then saying they control TV and what you see. I'm sure they have some influence. But thats different then believing conspiracy crap.

All media is flawed. Thats why you have to observe multiple points from multiple sources before coming to ridiculous conclusions. Going to random blogs or reading something in the newspaper is no more accurate. You take anything, even if you believe it with a grain of salt or your an idiot.

P.S. Oh god I know who Alex Jones is from infowars now, just remembered. That guy is as bad as Fox. God listening to him babble about the fricken Birth Certificate PDF bullcrap that he didn't even understand made me want to slap someone.

You have effectively embraced one dogma for another. It's not history, it's not facts, it's A POINT OF PERSPECTIVE. View both sides, don't reject one because of dogmatic reasons.

"when it comes to news those links are all you need." Don't you see why this sentence is as bad as ANY INDOCTRINATION? Sure, it might be an extreme statement for the purpose of making a point -- but re-evaluate it. Even though many of the sites you posted favor critical thinking, they too have their logical fallacies.

For us to transcend our petty state, we need to foster not an extreme view (this OR that) but a view that we're a spectrum of living things which has no extreme sides. Here's a piece of historic perspective for you -- No one has never benefited from polarization.

    @ CGMonkey

I see your point and I'm not saying there is a perfect source of information I'm saying I recognize a bad source from a good source. People should definitely hear ALL or AS MANY sides of a story before making their own decision but I have seen enough sides of FOX's story to make the decision that I don't need to see any more (that goes for all the major news media).

    @ Eldritch

You bet it does ! and I have been taking precautions ever since the event happened. I guess in Eldritch world if the news doesn't talk about it anymore it's probably meaningless.

I'm sure Chernobyl/Pripyat and the many Pacific Atolls that were exposed to nuclear radiation leaks and atomic tests respectively, are completely devoid of life whatsoever and are barren wastelands of atomic mias--

    Oh wait...

Ok, I guess I'm also guilty of partly derailing this train into a wreck site, but how'd we go from talking about Faux News to conspiracy theories?

    Moar Faux News schadenfreude please.
