These creative pieces are not on par with your studies. The anatomy is still a bit like spaghetti people (a continuous form without breaks and sharp angles) - though that's getting better - and the brushing is too messy.

Hopefully you won't use the fact that these are unfinished sketches as an excuse. Keep working!

Thx man... Now I can see how lazy I am. Also I understand now I'm blind to edge work and structure...
    I'll try harder next time.
    thx

really cool stuff. it seems like there are people who came to this world being machines which some day find the button that activates themselves ... and then they start producing like mad cows I know the problem of being too proud to use references but in order to reach a new level you always have to study your motives in detail.
maybe I will find my button too some day ^^ but I seriously doubt that ... too easy to earn money without having to push it right now xD

No skill still isn't a new side.

LOL I dont know what to say guys... e_e one say I'm lazy, I'm missing structure... and that my brush work is a messy ...While at same time ppl say I'm a machine and it was good work

    Thanks for both of you.

Now I'll get back to what I was doing until page 5 ... there I had more homogeneous feedback.

    Yes yes yes!!
I was afraid you were gone forever.

Really really love what you've posted! I am inspired to paint now... what type of paint are you using in the thumbnails? You have depicted light beautifully in them. The tree and the mailbox is my favorite, that tree has so much detail, texture and volume... beautiful. Also the 2nd one, the tree fallen into the stream...
All of these are awesome... yes indeed lovely brush work! thank you for the update!

Well 6 month gap between my post?
I was pretty much depressive and thinking about to not draw/painting anymore... did almost nothing this year anyway!

A week ago a guy came asking for a painting, and I did it... then he got excited and made some stuff for me and now I'm getting commissions almost everyday. I'm happy with it and thinking if I'll have future drawing

here what I did this week .... all from mind... so I know it might look like a crap if compared to what I did before. But these were made really fast

To @the-muddy @P sage : Thank you so much ! really I think I come here almost because of both of you!
I mean I think only you to lurk my sketchbook haha!... I'm very sorry about this huge gap between my answers!

also @the-muddy all the thumbnails was made with gouache

Man, those are some amazing studies. Love the usage of colors and how soft and warm they feel.
I can understand how you feel but I am glad you are getting back to art again. Your latest works are not crap at all. I really like The Yuno gasai! She looks like a psycho as she should be,haha. Keep painting man, and never stop!

Really great to see you back, Fern!

It would be shame to stop because you have love for the work and it showed. Keep going! As Bobby Chiu showed, you can do concept art from anywhere in the world. Even Brazil!
