    Welcome to CA!

A lot of guys started years ago to doodle and get better but for me and some of my friends here the whole magic began here at ConceptArt.
I like that dragon sketch a lot and the digital painted one rocks! Looks good overall! And your FF stuff is good, too. Your style is a bit of manga/anime/Japanese am I right?

Thank you, for both the welcome and the praise!
I had almost forgotten that I had made this thread, that's why I took so long to reply. I am sorry
Well, about my style. I don't know really. I tend to draw anime because I used to watch it when I was a little younger, and it just stuck there for some reason. I like to draw landsacpes as well, but I am kind of new to that.

Here are a few of the pieces I have been working on, this past.... month.
This one here with the fox is actually only my second "landscape" painting. And the one with the girl standing on a roof, is my third.

Been a while since I last drew anything. I've decided to produce 1-3 quick drawings each day for one year. I really hope I can keep that promise.

Anyway heres some quickies from yesterday and 1-2 days before that.

Your Tifa is the best by far out of your digital oriented media. However, your pencil work is heads and shoulders above anything on here. You seem to really spend time and detail on the pencil work in comparison to anything else on here. I also love the digitalised tree. Keep it up!

Hi, good stuff with a lot of promise! I will critique away as requested!

My advice regards the card holding gentleman and it would simply be to draw more from reference, even if you'd rather make very stylized anatomy and character design. Increasing your understanding of form and light will help you to design stylized anatomy in three dimensions, which is crucial when painting.

As it is, there's a lot of good uses of contrast, both warm/cold and in value, but they are not unified in a single (or several) lightsource(s). For instance, given the light of his brow and nose, his cheek would be fairly lit up as well. The same could be done with the are between nose and lips, as well as the chin. The foreshortening of his face suggests that the eye would be almost invisible under that brow.

    Keep 'em coming!

Wow, thanks! I'll see if I can find one. If I do, I'll try fixing the errors.

Thanks Yeah, I know, noticed it when I scanned the image
Ok, it might not seem like it, but I *Really* struggled with this one. I am pretty happy with it so far, and I think I can do something nice with it later.
But still any critiques would be very appreciated.

Yes I do, despite what you may think other peoples perspectives will give you more insight into your designs. I actually love the quick sketches you just have developed. The one thing I always believe in is when looking at digital artwork, they are all extremely similar and when placed together with other digital works, they loose any independance. Where as your traditional oriented work is visible and unique. Should this be placed in an exhibition it would receive more notoriety than any digital work you have done.

    Thank you.
Well, I like to do digital more simply because you can mix and play with colors. Also, if you put traditional drawings beside each others, I'd probably be the same as with digital.

Trying to do some realism painting practice. hoping I'm actually getting something out of this <_< Used round brush and 1 layer for hair. the face.. like 20, I suck at drawing faces!

So. I simply painted off this one, didn't follow the tut, just jumped into last page.
I hope I don't make the creator angry by posting this. Source

Some anatomy studies (from mind) after I had eyed through some skin-naked men.

The first one I noticed the stomatch should be more twisted, since his right leg is pushed backwards. But I got other things to do right now

The other is Leonardo-wanna-be I know lol, didnt observe, so mine doesn't look like his at all, except a little.

Just bought Colors and Light and Imaginative Realism by James Gurney. About 60 pages into colors and light, so far it's pretty good.

Just wanted to try paint something random and simple and see if I've learnt anything.

Just finished reading colors and light from start to finish. Loved it.
Felt like it was ages ago I drew anime/manga style art. So I decided to do it and do some heavy coloring.
For the first time in ages I don't have to play with contrast

No, not two anymore, a little more than three years now. Of course I did draw when I was younger, but I didn't learn things, just drew for laugh and yeah u know.
