    Question Levels

    First off, very sorry if this doesn't go here.
    This has been nagging me since I began lurking.
    What do these level things me. Like I am a Level 2 : Ordinarii
    Is it related to our post count?
    Or the quality of work in our sketchbook?
    Random dice roll?
    I have searched around quite a bit and found no answer.

    Pretty sure it's post-count. Possibly number of thanks received.

    Yes they're post count levels. Number of posts for each level.

    Okay, thank you guys for clearing that up!
    I figured it was post count, but I was kind of hoping it might be somehow related to your work quality.
    I think that would be a cool idea, but probably impossible

    Think again, vBulletin generated levels related to your work quality?!
    I think that would be a terrible idea, besides being impossible. (cf.A rational way of judging art.)

    Levels according to the quality of your work? *shiver* I couldn't live in such a world, my ego is so fragile as it is.

    I can just imagine an automatic art-quality-detection system...

    var numKittens:Number = 0;

    for (kittens in thisArt){
    numKittens += 1;
    }

    if (numKittens > 0){
    thisArt.quality += numKittens;
    user.level += quality;
    }

    There's no way the levels are based on personal art quality. It's all post counts, just like any other forum.

    It's the type of weapons and armor we get to use in the Gladiator Thunderdome.

    I don't really use forums that often...in fact, I think this is the only one I post on that uses actual usernames an such.

    It's kind of scary to me too. But if it is possible (and I know it's not) I think it could be a great learning tool.

    Yes. I agree with this. You have found the definitive way to measure art quality.

    I think it would be cool if level corresponded to the amount of attachments in your sketchbook.

    No. Did you not think about how some people would just post tons of crap?

    You get your level up by getting involved in the community. Okay I might natter a bit much here and there , but it all adds to the tapestry.

    I did. But the levels aren't something that people pay much attention to anyway. You could say the same thing about people just posting pointless comments to up their level. Which as far as I can see doesn't happen.

    Also, you increase your levels by training hard. Ask Son Goku. I, personally, can't wait to be Level 8123228370 Super Saiyan.

    I agree with Black Spot that people would just post random crap. If you're looking for something more than post count then look at their Thanks in x many Posts ratio. There's some pros on here with a few hundred thanks in only 30 odd posts.
