    Post Gilmu's Sketchbook of doom

Uhhh... Maybe a presentation before? Hi, I'm 16 and I'm from Spain and I love drawing...and I have a lot of imagination. I love doing make my own comics. I also draw traditionally (Fast painting). But I have a problem... I consider my art crappy (thanks to my parents). All critics are wellcome.

This is suposed to be a harpy-dragon thingy...

This is Orión, one of my oldest OCs. He's an alien

Ok, this is suposed to be a girl possesed by a demon. Dexter is the themon (the mask) and the girl is Tina

Fanart from the series "Gargoyles". I used a tiny lineart for this, but I don't like how it came out much...

    Hey Gilmu!

I think you have a really great start, especially on knowing where your light source is. You seem to have a good grasp on proportions too!
I love the harpie because I am currently drawing one too! ;D

I'd start moving into adding details now. Scales, tear drops, skin textures, just add more to it. Really nice work

Very nice concepts and characters. I would work on values and shading, to make them look more 3 dimensional.

Thanks! I should practice too... x3 Now lets add some that I've draw this week...

This is a fake screenshot that tell my characters' stories. I called this "Distrust" :
" -It's so easy! So, do the deal?
The young magician put his hand, but Lilith went back. Suspicious, she also went her hand...
-Lilith, wait! It's a trap! -she turned around and she saw her friends. They didn't abandon her. "

Character concepts: Akita (Yes, like the dog ) and Luke (In memory of Luke, my sister's swift that died today ) They live in Japan and they are superheroes. Luke can transform into a pencil and Akita can draw with him. Invented during Fisic class.

Nice start. You should study some human anatomy though. Do you know the Loomis books? They are free, check them out!

A character concept for a comic I'm working on . Here's his bio:

    "CRAZY??!!ME?! No way!! *addresses a skull*Isn't true, dear? "

He's Russian. He's a demon, but he's in human form... for now. And yes, he's completely crazy. His nickname is "Dimitri, who make deals" because he makes deals with other demons, but he repented and asdfasd now he's killing them x3 He often has crazy ideas, so he and Amenah (the girl from my creepy sketches) are always in trouble x3.

I was sold as soon as I saw the gargoyles ^_^.
I think your doing quite well for your age, so don't let parents discourage you. My dad nearly had an aneurism when I told him I was going to animation school - because art isn't work.
    He got over it. lol.
Anyways- pick up some fundamental studies. All the perspective, life drawing and stuff you see around the site. There are lots of great tutorials in the tutorial section.
They're not as fun as drawing... fun stuff but they're what really help you to improve.
If I had a time machine I would definitely go back to myself at a young age and introduce myself to anatomy studies - that would have saved me a huge headache, wandering around in the dark
    Happy sketching

Why thank you so much! My father didn't talk to me in a few weeks when I decided to move from science to art xD But he looks kinda satisfied now since I'm having good grades Cx

That's the spirit If Rhubix had that time machine working, I would go back and start to study earlier, too.

Anyway, there is a lot of passion and imagination in your pictures. Don't let anybody discourage you. When I was your age I chose science over art, because that was what all the "adults" told me ... and I regretted it deeply over the last ten years. If you believe art is your path, stick with it and enjoy every picture along the way!

I want to become a comic artist.

So I started enjoying working in 1200px or bigger canvas. I use to zoom it so much while drawing and I don't like to see the colors so pixelated Cx
This was a trade with a user on dA, she told me to draw anyone of her characters so I did. I also started using refferences for important pics, but I'm still having that cartoony and big-headed style Cx

For some reason I'm proud of this one. I used the color mode layer for a first time in a pic and I like how it came. I didn't use much layers for chading like my other pics, and I didn't spend much time on it, but, oh, well Cx
