I am a 22 year old illustration student living in Portland, OR.

I would like to do concept art for video games and movies (specifically environment, creature, weapon and vehicle design) and illustration for book covers, albums, and organizations like Wizards of the Coast. I am currently interning with a small handheld gaming company, and have met with a lot of success designing environments, textures, and characters.
I would appreciate comments regarding the direction I should push my portfolio in my final year of school. Cheers.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'm currently trying to find where my art fits - and where to fit my art. Basically, what do I have that art directors (etc) need, and what do art directors need that I should work on? There are two things that I'm already working on:
1) Figure - Though I may not ever become an amazing character artist, my lack of experience drawing people will surely come back to bite me if I don't put in some serious effort this last year of school
2) Concepts - Though I want to be a concept artist, my portfolio is mostly filled with illustrations, the kind that might appear on a book cover. So I need to buff that out with more concepts.
I would probably say the girl with the gun. I wasn't able to achieve realistic lighting on the girl, and I had troubles with her pose that I never quite worked out. It may be better in some ways than other pieces (I like the colors and atmosphere), but even my environment sketches, though not photoreal, serve their purpose well.
Very great stuff! I think that this year is your schooling you should work to acheive that realism and stuff that you want to achieve, and that you definatly have the ability to go where you want to go. Keep it up, looking good

So I would go and do a light pass on the girl painting, and also bring your environment sketches to finished pieces, they are amazing and you certainly can take them to the next level. If you need any help watch some of these videos on how to bring a piece to a finished level:
