    Metabaron, Nameless

    Hi,

This is my tribute to The Saga of The Meta-Barons.
Is made in Zbrush for modelling, texturing and render, Photoshop for compositing and retouches.
    I hope you like it!

    Regards,

    Munozvelazquez

    Metabaron Model

    Hi,
Thanks a lot everyone for the comments! I'm glad you like it.
I'm preparing a small making-offor the render passes I used to make the image.

This is the model form Zbrush.

    Regards,
    munozvelazquez

I've never seen anyone make a 3d render of Metabarons before, let alone at this level. It's very novel (I mean this in a good way)!

The image even has a slight comic-y feel to it. After seeing this image I can really see how a 3d animation adaption of the series would work.

Thanks for putting it up, it really made my day. Gave it 5 stars.

Edit: I checked out your website, very high quality work. I see you were also the person who did the Freeza render you posted a long time ago on this site. And you even made a Reeve Superman. Jezus, how cool is that?I'm usually not that big on fanart, but when it's this well-done, it's like a fanboy's wet dream.

    Icon

    Really great art!

I hope you will not treat this as an offense but as a critique! In my opinion his shoulders are not enough separated one from another which makes his head look disproportionate according to the body and large! Of course, on the other pictures after the first it is not so obvious! In other words, his chest seems to look too narrow and it stares too much! I know it is unusual and makes this work unique. After all, I think it keeps aside from the stereotype!

    Keep doing art!

Thats a meta-baron for sure. I love Moebius, and I find this a really good and true 3D render of teh mata-baron. Seems to be the one from John DiFool?

    Small Making-Of

MidgardSerpent: Thanks a lot man! Very glad to read it. I have to admit I'm quite like Fan Art, specially from things I like. But would be really cool a Metabarons movie!! Regards!

clanlord: Thanks you ver much! To be honest I wanted to givit some comic looking as or a different looking a little bit. Bun I didn't noticy the proportions, I just looked at it and worked to me, but I saw it too much time that I may lost the fresh view to detect some things. Thanks for the advice, is usefull to have them! Regards

Geir: Thanks Geir! to he honnest I don't know who John DiFool is, I looked over the net and find he worked on the Incal, but i didn't knew him before. My refereces where this two images:

Cool update John DiFool is the comic, made by Moedius. Not the artist But the meta-baron (this one) is the same in that story as in the Sagas of the Meta Barons (which series I unfortunately don't own every book in)

Oh my god, this is astonashing! I have been waiting for someone with bucketloads of artistic knowledge to do a tribute to these great comics. And a very worthy tribute it is! You really payed attention to the comics, I love the detailed face and you didn't forget the scar.

I have just started learning 3D myself recently so seeing work like this inspires me greatly.

(P.S. - This also made me realise that if anyone should play Nameless in a future Metabaron or Incal movie it should be Bruce Willis lol.)

This is really nice work. Also after seeing how much work it took into creating has helped me to realize 2 things.

    1 - I have a new found appreciation for 3d art
2 - Its not as simple as the zbrush website makes it out to be!

Really great render btw - had to look twice to be sure it was an actual 3d model and not an actual sculpture.

Great CG encarnation of this great character, congratulations. I love the comics too, with the drawings of The master Juan Gimenez. I think that the final render is some weird in my opinion, i don´t know if that 70's light's look it's correct to the model. Perhaps other background would help too. Anyway, amazing work
    Regards.

    wow!
that last piece is fantastic (the others are great aswell, but you captured the style of the comic in a excellent way in that one)

the metabarons saga are my favourite comics, so great to see someone doing some tribute work, i allways wondered why nobody seems to know these comics
