    NoteSlate (the simple tablet)

I stumbled upon this website and thought it's cool in some point.
Don't know if it really works as they say, but I'll wait and see. Especially if it's any good for drawing.

Hmmm, I would say it's good for doodling, but not much else.

Although I would get one for school if I had the money.

I have no doubt that some people could make amazing artworks with this thing. But that's the same with anything. It's the artist, not the tool.

Good artists can make art with anything. Like so:

I do that thing where you scalp cars-salesmen and call it art.

So basically it's a computer that should work pretty much like paper?

I think I'll stick to my pen and paper. Still, I might consider buying it as an ereader and/or note-taking tool for school because of its low price.

I don't quite see the point... I've got apps on my phone that already do everything that thing does, only much better and with more functionality.

The fact that it's aliased, one color, and low resolution is a deal breaker for me. Seems like it has extremely limited saving and sharing options as well.

(Plus whoever wrote the text on that site sounds half illiterate... This does not induce confidence.)

not bad, but still a compromise.

for what it's worth, my lenovo x200 convertible tablet is the best mobile sketching setup i've ever used, and i've tried them all. with the outdoor antiglare screen, bluetooth mini keyboard and 9cell battery, i can go plein air painting in photoshop just about anywhere for at least 5 hours

you can pick up a good one on ebay for around $600.
