    Captain Environment

The images above are the sketches that I created for the captain character at the top of the thread. This was my first attempt at an environment speed painting.

looking goooood just gotta do more man focus more on proportions first so you dont end up with huge faces n shiiit, like do some loomis before then apply it while looking at "tasteful" pictures of ladies.

Well, its been a long old time since i last posted due to starting a new job, but now im back on it.

@Tom - Hey, thanks and sorry for the no reply. When i was creating the silhouettes I knew that i had to create a specific character that was human i.e a military character, so i started with a basic human form and then just added random shapes to create a decent looking character. Some of them are more detailed than others, so for these ones i added shapes and repeatedly refined them until it was more specific and looked like a military character for example. Hope that makes sense

Attempting an environment, do not really know what im doing, so just been experimenting with different stuff. Not finished. No textures used though, i dont fully know how to use them so they always make my work look a mess

Studies are looking good mate, hope your applying all this stuff too dont do what i did and just study everything for months and forget it all haha. With the anatomy your dotting all around the body, might help you out to focus on one thing for a long time so it gets gelled in until it drives you insane. Also with your last colour study use bigger brushes and hard/soft ones its hard to crit the colour/value without seeing the ref too. PEACE

yo~ nizzy g thx for dropping by the sb! totally appreciate it

hmm.. this is quite a nice start. seems that you have a good handling on anatomy and could push it even further (which i see you are doing with these latest studies). lots of potential in your character thumbs as well. i think the only 'crit' i have is to push the contrast a bit more in your digital work. i think post #12 and #19 are definitely getting there. just keep at it dude! everything is shaping up nicely
