    ImagineFX Rising Stars 2011!

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know ImagineFX announced their "rising stars" 2011 talent search So sharpen your swo.. pencils and get to work. You might be full-page featured and marketed as one of the 10 hottest young artists of 2011!

    http://www.imaginefx.com/-2287754332...9/default.html

    ------

"The ImagineFX Rising Stars showcase is back for 2011. Like last year’s opening event, the Rising Stars campaign aims to discover, promote and celebrate the best of today’s young sci-fi and fantasy artists and illustrators, whether digital or traditionally based, from around the world.

As long as you’re 25 or younger at time of entry, we want you to get involved. Our aim is to champion artists and the art community, and the Rising Stars event is our way to shine a light on new and emerging talent.

Whether you’re a full-time artist or an amateur hobbyist we want to hear from you. You can be based anywhere around the world, and there’s no charge for entry. The 10 best entrants will be featured in issue 75 of ImagineFX, on sale 20 September in the UK, and three weeks later in the US and overseas.

    How to enter

Submit your best five digital or traditional pieces of portfolio work, with your full name and a short biography to: imaginefx@futurenet.com.

If you're sending large files, please use free file sharing software such as YouSendIt, otherwise your email may not get through. You will get a confirmation email once you’ve entered.

The deadline for all entries is 1 August 2011.

Please don’t send original works and make sure that you have copies to spare of anything submitted.

You can also post your submission on a CD to:

    AGE DISCRIMINATION! XD

That's discouraging to people who get late in the game to pursue their dream!

Another "you're too old to work in this industry contest" D:

I KNOW it's so unfair! I'm 20 and starting -- that's clearly old! I mean, I have to COMPETE with these losers who have been doing it since childhood! FML!

    ......*checks age group it's for*

    OK I'm still cool.

    Looohoooooooosers!

I often get mistaken as being in my early 20s, does that count?
