I love it when I get that overwhelming surge to subscribe to certain threads. This is one of them Your colours are amazing. I just started working with colour, and finding really difficult. Your work sort of reminds me of Matt Gaser. I don't know if you know of him...if not definitely check him out. Your screen caps too are good. Noticed one of Butch from Pulp Fiction. Killer movie...Keep up this awesome work, looking forward to more.

Hmmm....I'm not impress with you figure drawing. You just need to work harder on your anatomy more. I recommend studying Rob Liefeld's drawing or at least trace a lot of anime drawings, preferably from deviantart. ;-)

    painting around

Today's (not so daily..) daily speed painting. I took a photo of my train stop at 7:00am. Just loved the lighting, had to be painted.

Awesome colors on the daily paintings, that's such a great idea! I noticed lots of your figures have very defined and rugged chins, even the girls. Might want to try drawing them softer. Keep up the great work!

Here's my complete midterm project for my illustration class.

18x22 charcoal on illustration board. ~ 30 hours start to finish.

The result is nice, my parents will like it, im sure, but I feel like the last 20 hours on it was a waste of time just rendering and rendering and rendering. >.<

Great stuff Jonathan C, you really make me want to go to SJSU. On the figures though, there seems to be a little bit too much abstraction or distortion, mostly on the female figure on the right. It could just be me though.

Thanks for the crit KT, yea I see what you mean
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unlike many of my other speed paints, I started with a gesture and developed it into pretty detailed line work. I think this allowed me to be more confident during my painting process.
