    Esther Cuan's Sketchbook

    Hello everyone, my name is Esther Cuan and I want to be a professional concept artist. I will be posting my progress here.

    Here I have some figurative work, some mastercopy's and some personal drawings as well.

    Nice start! how are you liking TAD so far? Loving your pastel handling, and the master copy for Jason's comp class turned out dope.

    Thank you for your reply's ! Ill work on hands soon! in the mean while here are some Fechin figure drawings. I encourage everyone to do a copy of these because you will learn alot!

    Thank you! I love tad, it is a lot of work, but I want to keep improving, drawing every day until I can start working on my formal and professional portfolio!

    I love the way you've used the Maroon on the figure sketches above, look's like the background is dancing with the figure, a real splash effect. The black and white portraits are great, the way you do faces reminds me of Maughans 'Drawing the Human Head' book which I didn't fully grasp though the pictures in it were great.

    Lovely work! I especially like the first 3 (the figure studies) - beautiful job capturing the effect of light on skin. What medium were those? Also, the TAD poster is gorgeous. Wonderful details. Looking forward to more.

    Thank you everyone for your great feedback and comments! RedOwl, the medium for those figure drawings is pastel. Its not a soft pastel its more chalky and square so we can focus on shapes and silhouettes. I will keep posting more work! I am glad you like my work Mason, thank you for your reference I'll see what that book is about
