Just quickly popping in here to show that i'm still alive.

Once uni is over in the next couple of months and I head back up to the midlands I'm going to try and arrange regula ish meets in the midlands area. Everyone seems to be either north or south based, so Ill try and gather some local troops and see what the outcome is. Just firing this thought out while Im thinking about it.
I'll also try and show my face in london more often, when money permits. I'm dying to go on a museum binge

    Happy arting

    Rich.

Hey guys and girls, I'm moving from Manchester to London over the summer to start a post-grad in Animation although I don't know anyone in that part of the woods! Is there a regular sketch group that gets together and if so are new commers welcome? Would be cool to get to know the art crowd down there.

Cheers Sleep, I've never been part of a sketch group to be honest but it sounds like good fun. I'll have to lurk here for a while and get to know some of you guys in time for moving to the big L.

Are there a lot of graduates here? Would be quite cool if some one else from my course was on here.
Just in case... I'm starting Character Animation Postrgrad-Dip at Central St. Martins in September.

Angel Intheuk I'm going to be based in a place called Redditch which is between stratford upon avon and Birmingham. I'm guessing Birmingham will be the best place to arrange meets, but this is uber early days.

    hi people!

going down to London on thurs and just curious as to if there is anything on which is worth a look? got some plans of what to visit but does anyone know any good anatomy museums or exhibitions, human as well as animal that are down there? looking to get some reference, so photography allowed would be cool, seen a few online but unsure which ones are worth a visit?

    cheers

brandon, james the info about the auction.

    for all who interested =)
    ( from underpaintings.blogspot.com )

Next month, Christie's Auction House, London is having an auction of Victorian & British Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours. The sale looks amazing, with art created by such notables as Edward Seago, Sir George Clausen, Ford Maddox Brown, The Hon. John Collier, Sir Alfred James Munnings, Sir Edward Colely Burne-Jones, Frederic Lord Leighton, John William Godward, Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema, Sir Edward John Poynter, John William Waterhouse, Herbert James Draper, Edmund Blair Leighton, Thomas Cooper Gotch, Sir John Lavery, James Tissot, Sir John Everett Millais, and Philip Alexius de Lszl. To see such names in a sale with only 108 lots indicates what a strong offering this is, especially since several of the artists mentioned have multiple pieces in the auction.
The sale will take place at Christie's London facility at 8 King Street, St. James's, on June 16th. Previews run June 12th and 13th from 12 PM to 5 PM, June 14th from 9AM to 4:30 PM, and June 15th from 9 AM to 8PM.

btw, there's a london-wide "exhibition" called the Elephant Parade to raise awareness for endangered asian elephants...my girlfriend is one of the artists that participated, and her elephant (Dandy-phant) is in St. Pancras station. please check it out if you get a chance! more info here.
