    THAMES FESTIVAL 12th & 13th SEPtember

Some of us are going. It will be fantastic judging by past experience and this years events. Burlesque, Circus, Fire and lots of interesting cultural performances abound and seems like the perfect excuse for another London sketchmeet!

BE THERE! (Being square is just not an option on this one lol )

    ~^-^~

    get better or die trying....

    Congrats Chupa!

As for Nandos, I'll finally be able to make it for once. I'm trying to claw my life back from work so hopefully I can devote more time to art.

Will hopefully be able to pop over breifly, can't make it for the whole night though-some rapid chicken eating will ensue if I do.

I hope you know how many hearts your breaking Mr Muftic

James, did you get my message on FB? I'll be in London on Sunday but I'll be meeting up with a friend to see a show. If you're free, would it be alright to meet up for a bit for le pooped-out harddrive exchange?? Thanks.

    k folks...quick update

Bank Holiday weekend or another regular weekend for Vilppu?

Looks like we're scaling back slightly so we can get butts in seats and pay for everything. So will probably be a two day thing with little bonuses on either end instead of a four day stint.

But yeah...been advised against going for the bank holiday. What's your opinion?

People usually make plans on bank holidays-venues get busy, and trains tend to go bat-shit crazy (in the not working sense). I personally don't mind, but would guess a "normal" weekend may be better? Hurrah, for cheapness too-glad there is progress

I'll probs get to the V&A about 2.30 - 3 oclock, provided the circle line doesn't eat me.

Really good to meet you guys last night, sorry for disappearing so early. Will bring my sketch book next time : )

Shipwight, I'm very jealous of the straight lines in your drawings. I know I've got a massive problem with them, so I'm currently doing loads of "draw two dots, try to connect them with a perfect straight line" exercises. Hoping that I'll get something not awful eventually, any tips?

Wish I could come along to the V&A today, damn job!

We are there til about 9-9.30 pm, so you could perhaps still make it for an hour or two after work if you're somewhere in London (and not too tired, of course).

I keep missing these Nandos sessions, alas. My excuse this time is that I've just stepped back into a Mod post at WetCanvas, so have spent much of the last 48 hours getting up to speed again there. I promise I'll make a point of being at Nando's next time!

    Congrats, Khan!

Had a quick read of the last few pages of the European workshop thread, lol, looks like I got some time to save some cash for it since it doesn't look like it's happening in the next month or so. Who's considering going?

I am considering it. If it is on when I'm at university then I probably wont go, but it all depends. Everythings a bit up in the air at the moment for me.

My main reason for going this time would be more for business purposes. It'll be good to get some solid feedback on my portfolio from games companies and professional artists, as the end of my university days are close at hand and the necessity of a job is becoming more real.

Am heading to Tokyo Games Show and other game conferences then. Europe is always a great blast to experience, so if you can afford it. Try it out!

Sorry I didn't make it to the V&A yesterday afterall, I had to sort out uni re-inrollment and student loan forms as a matter of extreme urgency.

Being a full-time student (assuming those forms arrive in time so that I actually am still a student) then in depends on the exact dates and cost but I definately want to go to the euro workshop. Especially if it's in Berlin.

I'll definitely be going when they can sort things out. Kinda disappointed things didn't work out earlier in the year while the weather was warm.
