This girl is the asteroid poor mining colony king's bride. Not long ago she was a hardworking miner and now she's a queen.
The colony is very low on money and extremely far from core world's civilization, so for the local miners this wedding is quite excuisite (the best female siut chosen, the richest crystal picked...)
And the wedding ceremony (by old tradition) is commited "outside", in outer space...

Limona, Daughter of the Lord of Stars, was punished with a sentence of roughly 50 years of marriage to the short, yet fabulously wealthy, King of the Dwarves. Or, if you look at it in a more optimistic light, our short friend here was greatly rewarded with this arranged marriage. One can see their royal marriage as a classical case of a doomed relationship, the ills of miscegeny, or that all cave-dwelling, pudgy gamers have hope of taking an elven princess to the altar (or to the prom photo op, for evidence).

so i kept the "bishop" crown, cause my idea was this daughter of a very religious king and country marrying a prince from a military ruled country, but i failed in doing the groom, he just didnt turn out the way i wanted him...so i guess this is maybe some pre-ritual thing just before the wedding x)
//edit - doh forgot the wips//

A future bride in a far off place. I know she's not "obviously" a royal bride, but for me this challenge was about exploring the less obvious-- if we *knew* it was a royal wedding, what would the bride look like? Anyway, it's ok if I'm dq'ed
I learned a lot while working on this one, esp thanks to Bnoch, for always posting his awesome work and wips, and to Matt Kohr at ctrlpaint.com for all his great tutorials.
And it's in black and white. Because color is hard <

While last week's royal wedding didn't mean anything to me, and it took the promise of a toilet bowl seat hat to get me to look at any pictures, I will admit it inspired a good CHOW. It’s nice to see so much range in the design.
Veshkau: I instinctively don’t trust that grin, and yet for some reason I’ve also taken my wallet out. Huh.
Pasternaqque: I love the concept and the execution, combining a robust workmanlike spacesuit with wedding finery is wonderful. I’m glad you dropped the crown, I think it would have stood out too much.

Cartogriffi: Thanks a lot. My idea was to step out of usual stereotypic birthday cake like princess/queen style. Unfortunately I didn't reach my ideal image of miner's queen, but I've tried). The initial idea of mining droid groom was rather fresh... at least I hope so.
And in my head the crown was some kind of technical equipment (like droid/harvester control unit or something like that).
BTW, I didn't drop the crown completely)))
