I can't critique your work, you are stronger than me right now, but your sketchbook is a welcomed piece of eye candy

    keep it up

Nice stuff I don't think I'm in the position to give you advice(and even if I were, I'm pretty sure there isn't much to say). I've got one thing though: You might want to ground your characters a little more by having some of the grounds features overlap with your characters boots or something like that. As of now they do sometimes still look a little floaty.. not like that'd be a catastrophe for a concept xD
    __

    Cheers!

I really like that you post your WIPs and we can see your process! It's really helpful and inspiring to me as I'm currently trying to learn to digital paint and create environments

Some very nice stuff here, and it's good to know you're studying game design with a view to be a concept artist - I'm in a similar position myself, however I will be studying Computer Art and I'm nowhere near as advanced with concepts as you are. Really impressive and inspiring stuff - keep it up. Also, it's evident that you're using some nice custom brushes - any tips/hints?

    thank you Dave,
i mainly use brushes from Reid Southen
    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAn...2cXEyepKaheeqA

one of the best hints for me was: create or modify brushes for specific situations-an example would be that you try to paint stone and build a brush specific for that task. do that for every time you think that a custom brush could help you

Really like your environments and colour choices. I hear you about finishing pieces, but in reverse. My problem is I feel the need to want to finish everything that isn't a study. I wish I could just walk away sometimes.

I think just a touch lighter in the background around the trunk of that orange/fire tree would help separate just a little more from the background. That is a great piece!

    Hi htkpeh,

So much to look at in here, some very solid work. As you said yourself it would be nice to see some more finished stuff, but what you have on show is very impressive.

Personally i'd like to see more pencil work as your sketches earlier in the thread are pretty cool and its always nice to see traditional work along with the digital.

Really enjoying the variety in here, keep up the great work!

ps. where can I order one of your futuristic looking coffee machines

dosn´t matter- this is a personal piece i´m working on right now- it´s mainly for searching for ideas and testing brushwork.
