I think I need to start working on full scenes. get some practice in with new brushes and different techniques....
In the mean time, I'm trying to finish this little version of Witch Blade of mine.

So I watched one of Dave Rapoza's live stream recordings on his YouTube channel, the one where hes painting a knight. Well I thought I would take this same loose approach he did. I discovered that all this time I have been....."Draw-Painting" and not "Painting"
It's hard to explain in words. It's as if I render the same way I draw, very technical and almost forced, resulting in very cartoony renderings which I don't like. I thought that maybe I needed to push my rendering more. The problem lies in my method of rendering.
SO! I took about 30 minutes to try something out. This is what I came up with.
I didn't want to go for a typical hideous goblin look, but more of a cleaner version just to test this method out. I will explore this further.

Hey man, just wanted to say I really appreciate all the stuff you do for CHOW, I'm sure you devote many hours that could otherwise be spent on your own art, and a lot of people benefit from it. I'm sure you don't get thanked enough so thank you!

Really liking your work man. I would love to see you do more studies. Keep at it!

Thanks Gutsworth, that means a lot. I love running the ChoW show and at times it is very overwhelming especially when I have to make the big "decisions" on the polls, but overall I find it gratifying that people enjoy the topics as much as they do.
Thanks Chevy, that makes me feel great, I think your work is amazing too. As for studies, well I have a whole folder of them that I just never posted on here, lol and I have a full 60 page sketchbook just chocked full of sketches, studies, and notes. Not to mention a nice stack of printer paper with sketches on it! However, I really should do more... In my last class I took, which was water color, I had a lot of studies from that too.
Thanks for stopping by!
