Fantasy Fantasy Artist Combo (what if)

I had a thought how interesting it would have been if Gustave Dore or Arthur Rackham had been around to illustrate 'The Lord of the Rings' by Tolkien. Anyone have any other ideas for an ideal combination of artist and subject matter that never happed/could never have happened?

I'd rather see them painting something more unusual like Star Wars. It would be funny to see how they will paint Vader if you give them a good description or an epic battle betwin jedi and sith. I bet they would be like "Swords made of light? Flying ships??? Get real, let me paint some angels" (I'm talking about the "old masters").

MC Escher designs Rivendell. Who knew the elves had self powered waterfalls and staircases that lead back to themselves? Not to mention all the elves walking on the ceiling!

    My Sketchbook

And then God said, "Let us make man in our likeness and our image. Let us make him ridiculously hard to draw so that poor artists everywhere will have to spend 10,000+ hours failing repeatedly before they can begin to capture the form and likeness onto a two-dimensional surface." And there was man. And it was good. And artists everywhere lost their minds.

I'm curious to see how the Renaissance masters draw cute manga girls.

I best Steph Laberis would do a stellar job, illustrating the Harry Potter series.
