16:00 is late indeed, but, not thát late, and changing it now would only be making the early ones stay at CS for a couple of hours. not to nice.

next one will be in the ealry afternoon then, but we'll have to wait for the boatsmen to plan that.

just a few hours to go!, i'm off to get beer and such, only 24 in one crate though..

hmmmz is it possible to go and sketch somewhere with a lot of fresh air.... a park or something? Because 13 people in a room with this weather sounds like it will be a bit ..... warm.

    Unhappy

EVIL- you were there? which one were you?

heh, i love how we walked around for half an hour, trying to find some place that had light- all the while passing lightpost after light post, plaza after plaza, and then finally ending up in a doorway of a post office. with 19 people, sharing a single fluorescent lightbulb. oh- and the ambiance of a cover band, playing 70's and 80's music at ungodly volumes- i'm glad i know basic NATO and American sign language- otherwise i wouldn't have been able to speak to my girlfriend who was sitting right next to me.

meh, i'm just a bit bitter because i was lugging the vodka, the water, and the beer for a while.

had fun- let's plan the future ones a bit better, though.

It was very cool. Nice to meet all of you. What was the name of that artist Phil Hill or something, that book from bizarre. Can't find anything from him on the internet.

Maybe the next meeting a bit earlier.

I enjoyed the sketchgroup, although I agree we should plan things out a bit better next time. Just pinpointing the places to eat and drink in advance would help. Also I suggest starting off earlier.

I'm sure like many of you, Phil Hale opened new doors for me. (good call to bring that little book Damian) In all, I'm left just as amazed by the quality of his work, as the tremendous influence he injected on a global scale. I'm not sure if I can look at a Marko or Foster in quiet the same way now. Funny how some artist jigsaws can complete the puzzle. Norman Rockwell, Egon shiele, and Now Phil Hale...

    Peace,

    R.

the book was called Goad: the many moods of Phil Hale

it's too bad the rest of my books are back in the U.S.

was fun, all in all, but next time we need location scouts. it's easy to hang out with 3 people. 5, even. but 14 people? it becomes a bit of an unpleasant situation for logistics.

Let me throw this out right now just so i can get an idea of who might be interested- July workshop in Aartswoud.

Not 100% sure, but i guess on the 24th of July we could chill out on the houseboat than. I really hope it will be sunny like this weekend, so we can sit on deck and drink beer and draw an "entire" day. Meeting 1 o'clock at amsterdam centraal station. Let me know what you guys think about that date.

    Henrik

I think my boss doesn't want me to have that saturday off also, but he always whines about me taking a few days off.. Even though I'll be working for him for 5 weeks of my summer vacation!
Hmmm I guess I'll just tell him I want the day off..

Sooooo I think I'll be there, but I'm not completely sure.

But ermmm, I haven't seen any sketches from this last meeting from you...
Be sure to post it here!.

    love

Hiya guys, kinda OT but I think this should be very interesting for you guys.

The course Communication & Multimedia Design at the Noordelijke Hogeschool Leeuwarden is organizing a two days multimedia festival in Leeuwarden on the 28th and 29th of june.
This festival will feature game art and design and there will be a few guest speakers who are working in this field.
One of the confirmed speakers/lecturers is Daniel Dociu (www.tinfoilgames.com), a very experienced and talented art director and concept artist from the US who's currently working for Arena net (Guild Wars) for those who don't him. Daniel told us he will also bring along his son who also has a lot of experience in this field according to Daniel (I'm assuming it's Horia Dociu, a member of the GW team aswell, not exactly sure cause he didn't specify that yet)
Most likely this will be on the 28th of june, no specific time yet.
Entry fees will be 5 euro.

Basicly I'm trying to get an estimation on how many visitors to expect.
There will be room for about a 100 people, hopefully more.
So maybe it would be best if you PM me if you would like to come because I don't want this to stand in the way of the current sketch meeting appointments.
There won't be a list with visitors as far as I know, everyone is more than welcome to come, I just need a rough estimation on the numbers of people.

    More details will follow soon.

Rudeone, that sounds very interesting. They posted the work they did for guildwars a while back, but removed it. Gonna try to be there so I can push em to repost it .
