Smile Hand studies (and much more...again)

    Aloa

made with a 0,5 mechanical Pencil and one of those "Paper-Sticks" to blend the pencil strokes (usually i dont blend my stuff...i prefer more a clear and sharb look but now nobody can say i never tried )

Please tell me what you think and help me to improve myself
And YES my thumbs are that big ^^
And YES i know that the "Ringfinger" looks too long ^^

On the "hands" series: They look good, you seem to have an eye for detail. However (don't you hate that word? ), there are some proportional issues with them. I was doing the same thing a while ago. Try doing some coutour drawings of hands, to get down the basic shapes, and form. Try not to focus on details for now. Then add them in later.

On the second drawing: Well, honestly, it just doesn't look god. The anatomy has merit, but the drawing has an over-abundance of cliche and tackyness. It also looks like you started drawing anatomy stylized before you started learning it. Try some figure drawing classes, or if you can't, draw yourself in the mirror, and also buy an anatomy book to study. Also, the face has some major problem. The coloring isn't too bad, although it is fairly garish; it's hard to look at.

    Keep it up.

i liked the texture on the palm (third picture); is very good i.m.o. but i agree there are anathomical problems as you already stated...

can i assume that you are right handed well, all the hands are left ones (your left one indeed:p )

anyway, i also have some problems on drawing hands; so practising is always good, just keep up (i'm doing some self-criticism here )

I read this thing and thought you were going to touch me in ways never even imagined.

You disappoint me, sir. Give me a cheap hooker and I'll touch you like you've never been touched.

good hand studies, the anatomical crits are right, in some cases your fingers tend to go a bit rubbery, bending in places they shouldn't. BTW my thumbs are longer. I'm sure I'm fifth generation orangutan
