    Ven's Finished Work

Greetings! This is my first post in the Finally Finished section. This is a recent piece I did for an Art Order competition. Was quite fun! Cheers.

(and to all Pacific Northwest artists, hello, lets get in touch!)

Colors look great. I might up the contrast on the dragon in the back, though--it's pretty hard to see at the moment.

Also, hooray for Pacific Northwest artists! Are you Seattle-based or Portland-based? Or somewhere else?

Looks great the warrior looks awesome. Davie i think the dragon is meant to be less visible than the rest of the piece so it's probably hard to see for a reason.

I get that, but it seems very insubstantial even for a background object. I only noticed it on the second look--I like the idea of the indistinct form rearing up in the background, but maybe if it was just a little darker it would achieve that effect better, simply because it would be more noticeable.

Thanks for the comments. I agree that the dragon shadow thing is a little less than impactful. I actually did this for a contest in which creatures could not be included, so I didn't want to over-do it

I'm in Portland, finishing up my junior year at Pacific Northwest College of Art.

Meet Wiggles, my most recent creature! This was an idea that I came up with loooong ago. I thought I'd give it a new try because....it's so damn creepy! Was a very fun project, painted in photoshop. Sweet dreams!

    The Sorcerer

Feeling a lot better about human figures these days - still a lot of work to do, though! Cheers.
