Very good studies you got there. I like particularly the still life. The light is awesome. How long did you work on it? Keep posting.

Thanks for your kind words guys!

Patram: I'm not actually sure how long that took. I spent time on it on spurs during few days. I'm not too fond of the artificial lighting but had to do it with lamp since I couldn't find the time to complete it on one sitting. Perhaps closer to 10 hours.

Heres some poop sketches from imagination and few studies

Some studies I did today while listening to explosions in the sky new album.
Rocks! The crappy helicopter one is from imagination.

Also few poses from imagination from a while ago.

    Satupeikko: thanks!

Tried to apply some of the things I hopefully picked up last night.
Not sure how well I did.

Also started to do some Brigsman studies, hoping to improve my knowledge of anatomy. Will probably scan them later

Holy balls these studies are awesome! Would you be able to post a step by step as to how you approach studies? I especially like the lighting... do you block stuff in with guidelines and stuff, or do you just paint and do trial and error stuff until it looks right? Can't wait to see your bridgeman studies!
Im digging the start of this sketchbook, thanks for the inspiration man!

    ste: thanks alot!

forestdino, in2eternity, julianR: thanks! I wish my colors were as good without ref, never seem to get them right when I'm not doing studies.

ChromaticCodex: Too kind words I really liked the still-life at the start but start feeling like I'm being too stiff towards the end. Hopefully I can get a bit more loose feeling next time.

Not_Deadman: Cheers! I'll try to grab some progress shots next time. I usually just start blocking in straight with color. Sometimes I use some linework but thats mainly when I'm doing poses and stuff.

    Something for today:

    quick valuestudy,
    quick study from mjranum's stock,
    some space-ship like shapes,
crappy train sketches. If they look even remotely good they're probably from life and not from imagination

ugh, didn't manage to do much today, was out all day.

Anyways, some quick thumbnails and a valuestudy.
Also crap wip from imagination, a lot to fix on this one ie. the anatomy, colors and the perspective.

    Any crits are always welcome!
