CHoW#240 :: VOTING :: Fairytales Retold - Red Riding HoodVOTINGDESCRIPTION
CHoW#240 :: Fairytales Retold - Red Riding Hood
Redesign one or more characters from Little Red Riding Hood.
DEADLINE: SUNDAY, April 17th 2011
Deadline is Sunday, at 9:00 pm (GMT+1) Check your timezone!
This week's challenge is a very special two week event! We would like you to come up with a whole new design for ONE or More the characters in the story, Little Red Riding Hood. This can be anything from setting it in a different time to changing the genre it's really up to you! Fairytales are also about the story as much as the characters in them so for this challenge, the illustration of the piece is just as important as the development of the character so plan your image carefully!!!. As always, images which are not well developed will not make it to the poll!
Choose one or more of these characters:Obviously there may be more than this, but we have to put a limit on it somewhere!
- Little Red Riding Hood
- The Wolf
- The Hunter
Things to remember:
- Think about the inllustration of the piece But do not forget the character design!
- Can be any setting (Modern, Steampunk, SciFi, Fantasy....)
- Can be any genre (Horror, Comic, Romance....)
- You have two weeks so we expect to see fully developed characters!
Good luck, and be creative!
How to Enter
About quality - as general rule: if your shapes and values are not decent - you are out. Watch proportions, perspective etc. we need perfectly readable shapes and coherent, consistent values.

2: Make sure your name and CHOW # are EASILY READABLE on your entry.
3: Use the Standard format (Below);

THE REST IS EASY:
1: No comments before poll is set. They WILL be deleted with utmost malice and petty grumbling.
2: Sit back and enjoy the show. BYOPC (Bring your own popcorn)
3: Good luck to all.

Little Red Riding Hood... in Africa!
Too much nudity? It's National Geographic nudity though.

Not so Little Red Ridding Hood
So... heres my 2 cents, first CHoW attempt, really impressed with everyones stuff already, man I wish I had more time ha ha. Concept: Not so Little Red Ridding Hood, on a late night wolf walk . Last seen walking into the "Howling Wood". Apparently she couldn't sleep with all the howling coming from the forest.

First CHOW entry...kind of intimidated by things other people are doing. Anyhoo, went for an African theme, and used a hyena instead of a wolf. I painted these two separately even though it is one scene, and now that I put them together like this I realize that the scale looks completely off (Red Riding Hood would be much smaller, but if I made her the right size proportionally it would be hard to see her clearly). Best of luck to everyone!

Thanks for all the feedback and help!
My harlequin romance:
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the
mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all
science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who
can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe,
is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.
