Its' free and it takes less than 10 seconds!
I've been reading threads, and browsing sketchbooks here for a little while, and have been inspired by MCM's journey and so many of the other sketchbooks that I have decided to start a sketchbook here of my own.
My artistic strengths are video editing and photo manipulation, but my grasp of drawing and painting is low; something I hope to improve ! I used to be okay with 3d as well, but have forgotten most of it. I want to work on both 2d and 3d and find my own style for integrating the two.
Here are a few sketches from the last 2 days:
A few basic shapes: (starting again from the ground up)
Female model, photo from photo ref in People and Places, (vol ?)
Quick sketch of Venice, from a photo found online
Getting back into blender (trying the 2.56 beta), learning again from scratch...
Any feedback will be appreciated I will try to draw and post as much as I can this summer!
Just a quick sketch tonight. I haven't been using my scanner because I find it doesn't play nicely with my 2H pencil lines, will scan whenever I use ink.
No 3d today. Deleted blender to make room for version 2.57 which was just released. New stable version released just in time for my re-learning of it!
Here's a bit of fanart to flex the old drawing from reference muscles after falling off the drawing wagon over the weekend.
I find my scanner is not doing a great job with my sketches. Even with ink it's a bit iffy. I might try to take photographs using a tripod straight on. I suppose it could just be that my scanner isn't great. Do other people here prefer photographing their work to scanning it?
I've posted two for comparison:
Hey, welcome and grats on starting your SB, it's the first step into learning
Now, for what I can see, you're just starting out when it comes to drawing humanoid subjects... I would recommend hitting up some Loomis (Figure Drawing For All It's Worth) and maybe some Bridgman (Constructive Anatomy)... read a bit from there, and practice their exercises, they should help you get a better understanding of the human figure.
Other than that, keep posting and keep drawing!
My sketchbook - help me get better!
