Applying to MICA tomorrow need some advice on portfolio.

Im applying to MICA tomorrow and sending in my portfolio I need some advice on my work. I am told to include 15 pieces. If you could tell me what you think and any suggestions would really be helpful. If this should go somewhere else please tell me also. Here is my website with my portfolio as the gallery. http://andrewfullerconcepts.com

we were told to put whatever we wanted in. So i put in some of my photography as well as my tattoos i have designed. I wanted to be different and i will be replacing the creature with a still life of a soda can. As well as a still life of a skeleton. The concept creature was there to make it 15. Any questions or comments I can answer immediately i will be checking the page every couple minutes since deadline is within 24 hours.

you dont ask for input, but rather encouragement, right?

you aint got time to correct mistakes that could be pointed out.

neither does anything any of us says, play any role in the admission procress where you are applying.

i feel with you but you just have to apply and wait for the answer

Thanks. I guess i just wanted some encouragement like you said. Every portfolio I have seen is amazing and i really hate looking at my own work, so its hard for me to judge where its at. Every portfolio on here has won some sort of award or has gotten someone a scholarship. I just want to know where i stand as an average artist trying to apply to a good school like MICA. But i will send it in tomorrow and just hope for the best.

sending it in waiting for the outcome is all you can do now.

what we can do, is help you while you are going/growing (no matter if youre accepted or not), but none of us has any influence on the decission of the jury.

I understand that perfectly. This was more of a I am really nervous and I do not know how good, or bad my portfolio is post. Wanted just some feedback on the pieces. I still have 18 hours until i have to submit it. I could change and or tweak things just looking for more feedback.

As my instructors are fond of saying, this is why you're going to school in the first place. If you were already that impressive, you'd just go out and get work.

Thanks, And I hear that all the time. I just feel like my portfolio needs to be extra impressive for my lack of GPA. Not sure how bad my grades are going to hurt me. Im around a 2.0 and their website says 3.0 is preferred. But again someone said they had terrible grades but got in because of how good their portfolio was.

hehe just go to sleep, turn in your portfolio and keep us updated

im not trying to be ignorant or something, but nothing youre going to read in here is going to help you. broken down there are 2 possibilities anybody here can comment on your work... he likes it (that doenst mean the jury agrees with him)... or he doenst like it and adds some crit (you seriously aint get enough time for correcting) and right here youre imo running a big risk of losing faith and try chickening out by not applying at all.. which is the worst possible scenario.

you want to see where you stand? youll be told soon . thats what you did your portfolio for.

[edit] be a man and sit it out
