i'm am just starting in digital art and i dont know much about the hardware stuff. with my budget right now i got two options, an le1700 from motion computing or a st5112 from fujitsu (used ones). the le1700 has 1400x1050 resolution but st5112 is only capable of 1024x768. but st5112 is much cheaper. my question is how important is resolution...would it be a good compromise for the better price?
if you can recommend something better thats also good. something around $700 at the most...
well let's see here, I can tell you my story on this: I used to think resolution isn't a big deal, until I got my 1440x900 AOC. It really is a better quality. I know someone with 1024x768 who's doing digital art aaaaand let's just say he's not quite thrilled about it. Resolution itself isn't that important, however when we're talking 1024x768, you should 100% consider the 1400x1050 one. This because 1024x768 is starting to become a very basic resolution, kind of how 640x480 was some years back. Even from a web developer point of view considering all aspects the higher resolution you can afford the better. If on a monitor some skip the contrast specification, having a up to date resolution is recommended.
