not bad but the last one with the sniper has a few issues that pop right out at me.
First off there is no sense of depth. to me it looks like the space ship is in the foreground and is really small because it has the greatest contrast. There is also the issue of not really understanding whats even going on; you cant see the wings of the animal/monster so you have no idea how it got up there there and there is no sense of speed because of the non-shallot attitude of the sniper and the fact that his clothing isn't conveying the strong wind that would be present if he was flying at rocket speed. the last thing is that the sniper guy is looking at the viewer witch doesn't make sense if he is supposed to be shooting down that ship thing and it also breaks the 4th wall witch brings us out of the action.
practice master study's or paint from life and you will gain a better understanding of the things that I am talking about.
Keep it up.
thanks for crit and comment sean
i sort of got disturbed by the sniper part too but i didnt really get the problem with the spaceship so ill go into what youve detailed out and fix things
edit: tried to make the basic fixes in like 10 minutes due to a lack of time these days. even though this is very rough i guess it looks more authentic

tried to decide for some version and to render it out.. its a step by step process ..but i might get there eventually. would be time to get some proper anatomy reference now meh
some more details on the last wizard and a quick sketch of a new one...hope the next weeks will have more output
Youve improved a lot since the start of this sketchbook.
I think you would really benefit from looking at the human anatomy and get a better understanding of how bodies work.
TFsean: thanks for your comment and critique. yesterday i made some attempts with some fat old anatomy book and drew a few muscles .. it was kinda fun but theres lots to learn :o
made a colored attempt on a torso from my memory afterwards
and another one ;o
tried to work out a routine for my stuff and experimented a little. i think theres some progress in readability and ive done a little anatomy training at times so thanks for poking me in that direction
perhaps il work out the lizard pic..feeling tired now
also started posting on cghub but it was about time to update this sketchbook
the artist is coming out of his space bunker..slowly walking towards his graphic tablet PC and the All Seeing Eye v2.3 which is plugged to tablet via usb 5
... oh dear
this was an experiment with focus on silhouettes... theres still some work on the background etc.
I think your palettes have gotten much more controlled since the start, I like the moods you've achieved on this one, this one and this one for example. I also like the palette and clear separation of the figure and background on this one. Good construction and pose on this figure! The hands could've used more definition though.
Great sketchbook, I wish I was as productive!
thanks for droppin in again smuli. not sure wether im that productive as, unlike you, i barely made any real studies during the last weeks... ;x
however thanks for all the cirts. im glad you like the mood in the stormy coast painting. i started a more defined version which i will share when finished.
next step is to work with very defined sketches again as things get out of control too easily
see you around!
i was painting cr** the whole day until i came up with this speedpainting. quite like the mood..ill go over it tomorrow

ah well i ended up going berserk with the palette knife these days..its fun but it still feels a bit stiff with a wacom
ah well.. there are problems in understanding whats going on in that snow pic i guess. apart from that it was fun to paint that future soldier dood..theres a more detailed version but this one has more clearity
