My name is Renee and I am looking for work as a graphic novelist or book illustrator. My look is stylized and child / YA friendly with an emphasis on world creation and character design. For narration I use a blend of western and eastern styles that emphasizes character focused pacing without losing sight of the plot.
I love designing architecture, costumes, characters, anything to make a world feel immersive and interesting.
I sketch, draw, and ink by hand then import in to photoshop for color or tone, and lettering. I use both CS5 and Manga Studio to get the look I want.
Here are a few examples of my work:
I also sculpt maquettes in my spare time. I use super sculpey firm and magic sculpt over aluminium armature. Sometimes I use kneadatite, but only for little additions.
These sculpts were specifically for the comic posted above.
these are only a few examples and others can be found at http://www.viistar.com and in progress shots at http://www.facebook.com/pages/SaintM...25349277530876
feel free to email me at email@example.com

I am looking for cover art. I am going to self-publish my book on amazon, so the cover will have to look good even as a thumbnail. It is an adult-themed book, but I think your stylized work would still do nicely.
Interested? What are your rates?
If anyone lives and San Francisco, the Vaulker, Lazlo, and Osaja sculpts are on display at the Atelier Gallery at 79 New Montgomery Street, until August 29th. Stop by and say hi :3
Cover of Chapter 2, which will be printed as a 28 page pamphlet for APE con this October
