I hope you will try to break away from that and try drawing differently. From what i can see, they all (your avatar included) look exactly alike.

    To expand on Yutani's ideas:

A mistake often made by cartoonists is to focus so much on developing a style, that the surface of each character is extremely similar. The only way to tell the difference between any two characters is their hairstyle and clothing. Without the captions, I would have thought they're all the same guy.

So your stylization is cool. It's not as slick as you want it yet. I still say do some real serious life drawing. Study folds of cloth and the human form.

Learn how to make different body types and facial types recognizable. Sit in a bookstore one day and sketch everyone you see.

Most of all, have fun, and let that fun show itself in your drawing.

As I said, these are very quick sketches so I wasn't reeeaaly trying but I do know I need to improve. Everything I know is from my own experiance. I've never conciously learned from other cartoons so I think I'm doing well, but thanks for the crit. I need all the help I can get.

I think I'll do some more characters, now.
I'll post them as soon as theyre done-ish.

The style is kind of cutesy for me, though I'm sure many others would like it.

Try working on your folds some more, since they're making the fabric of the pants look less like it was moving and more like it's been sewn improperly. Even though it's a cartoon, there are some anatomy issues. Last off, I wouldn't know who these guys were if it weren't for the weapons, and even then I would need the title to clarify. Try studying the costumes a bit more, and it will give them more personality.

Keep going, you're doing just fine.

I wasn't really trying to get any details on them. They really were quick.
Anyway... here is a prelimanary sketch of Talim.

It's very rough. Can anyone tell me how to improve whatever may look wrong. I'll change the pic accordingly.

Quick or not, you're making sketches of already existing characters. They only come across as those characters as long as you put in the effort to define them as such.

Talim is a very good example of this. If you were to take out her trademark pigtails and her weapons, I would still know it was her. You've got the ability to detail them, even if they're just sketches, you should put the ability to work.

No offense, but that's not possible. Relentless of what type of art you are doing (cartoon, graphic design, animation, etc.) you need to know the history and importance of the art direction you are going in for.

I'm studying to be a graphic designer, and I'm currently doing research on other graphic designers, the history of graphic design, and tons more. Hell I even refer back to classic artists and even musicians because somehow, it all relates.

By not tapping into this info and seeing the numerous styles out there, you're only hurting yourself. Think about it.

I've just finished detailing. I'm going to bed, now.

Unlike Michael_H the only way I would now that was Talim would be 5% the weapons and 95% the stance she is in. Even a quick sketch should have some depth to it. These characters (except for Talim) all look alike and all have a weird HUH-WHAT-WAS-THAT look in there eyes. Surely you can sketch quick and give some of them a GIVE-ME-THAT-FRIGGIN'-SWORD look in their eyes.
Besides i think it would be better if you drew Yunsung with his standard weapon because the drawing as a whole lacks familiarity. But of course you're free to do as you see fit.

Ow and one more thing. I dont think its very fair to use the fact that you're selftaught as an excuse for your shortcomings. But thats just me.

Oh God I probably came across as an asshole.

Ow and one more thing again. It would help a lot if you drew the guys in alternate costumes. I know they've al got a pants and tight armless vest outfit. One would almost say that you can only draw them in sthe same gear. Also for the sake of variety try and sketch them in the outfits that make them differ from each other as it can be really hard to tell which is which without them being in color. Make a sketch of an already existant character in a way that you don't need to write down who it is, but that its obvious from the sketch alone.

    Now I'm truly done
