    WIP- crit needed

General crit needed- Been niggling at details too long. Haven't touched the clouds or moon too much yet, doofus that I am.
Fantasy-tinged take based on a real landmark.

    Thanks!

Everything looks really nice to me but the clouds seem to draw my eyes away from all the other details. They are too opaque, the look like solid objects in the sky, the snow on that mountain in the back is too bold as well. Try using a low opacity brush next time, there are a lot of brushes that make great looking clouds, I usually try avoiding the circular brush.

Here is a quick paintover over your piece. It could still probably use some more work, but hopefully it'll give you a good idea. The foreground midground background and has been pushed, composition changed, as well as accompanying value breakdown. It's also important to use a lot of reference to help push your piece farther. Hopefully this helps, good luck.

here's also an example of the type of multiple references you can use to help you

I really like the colors and everything going on in the front, but the mountain in the back with the snow on it looks really flat. It would probably look a lot better if you added a more rocky texture to it, it looks too smooth to be a mountain. Also the clouds should be a little more soft and not as bright. Try looking at some night sky references. Like this is a good example.
