Lightbulb Show your "mobile" draw & sketch equipment

    hi...

Just wanted to start a thread on how do you bring along your sketch book, drawing equipment, etc. when you're on the "go"..

sometimes sketch on the tram, train, streets, fast food stalls....

just show your "ultimate" drawing equipment...

    i'll start mine first....

    1) sling bag - my companion for years... quite dirty, only washed once
    2) pen... pencil... organiser transform to sketch book... can refill paper...

Sorry for the bad picture quality....

Hm, well, I usually don't take my sketch stuff out into town. You know, like on the usual trips to the mall, but I do when I take long travels. I usually have my sketchbook, and a little cyclender full of my pencils (Conte pencils and crayons, charcoal pencils, about 3 different brands of lead pencils, and erasers) which is tied to the binding of my sketchbook.

My studio---I mean sketch bag :P

Hey, this isn't a bad topic. Here's my stuff.
Show your "mobile" draw & sketch equipment

It's not water proof, but it's pretty durable.

-2 sketchbooks (one plain white and one midtone)
    -"inspiration" material (Jim Lee rocks!)
    -Video game magazine (Changes weekly)
    -2B, Prismacolor, 0.5 mechanical pencil
    -Sanford eraser
    -Ball point pen
    -Tombow Dual Brush Pens
    -white twisty tie

    Not shown:
    -Sakura Micron Pen
    -Kneaded eraser
    -pencil sharpener

I don't think I'll stick buttons on it, but I have an urge to paint it.
Ok, I'm done posting... Back to drawin'!

kylekwan: Thanks. My uncle was in the US Army and he had some bags. I think it's a bag for maps and stuff. You can probably find it in an army surplus store.

That`s my stuff. Nothing fancy to see here. This is then all crammed into that box there and put in one of my 5 bags, whichever matches my outfit best.
Desperately need some new stuff though, my box (actually my sister`s box) wont decently close anymore.
Those things at the top there btw are a pen made of bamboo (lovely little trinket) a tube of charcoal and a pencil sharpener (which is a little fancy, but you can`t really tell.)

SirRon, is that a real wood floor or a fake one? Cuz it looks just like my fake floor.

    My microns 08 and 02
    A .5 mech. pencil and...
A CLICK ERASER! I can't live without it, you know the kind with the white vinyl eraser.

I really like that bag SirRon. So much so, that I went to Ebay to see if they had something simular. They did in fact have that same bag and a few others like it. I ended up with an Israeli paratrooper bag (only cause it comes in black - not a big fan of the olive drab).

Thanks for the tip. I've been looking for a good bag and haven't been happy with anything I found until now.

    LOL!

Anyway, I'm a hardcore sketcher. I usually just carry a razorblade and grab whatever paper is lying around in the street or garbage can, usually street. Here's a link to my "pen": Click Here

    Top right : Moleskine notebook
    Left : Derwent 2H pencil
    bottom : My pencil sharpener(s)
    bottom right : Eraser

Thats my minimum sketching equipment so far.. Sometimes I bring along an A4 size sketchbook but thats not often.. All this fits into one pocket which is handy but I kind of want similar equipment as SirRon is using

    SirRon's bag on ebay
    Another that's simular
I prefer the Israeli Paratrooper bag
This is the one that I bought

[edit]For those who are curious - I just got my bag in the mail. Perfect for 11x14 sketchbooks. Has 3 large devided pockets inside and a 8x8 pocket in the front for erasures, mp3 player, triangles, whatever. Plus pencil loops.

The whole bag is made of canvas and is stitched together pretty well. It has a shoulder strap. A perfect bag for traveling artists (and I've been looking for awhile). I think a small laptop could actually fit in this bag, but I don't know if I'd do that because there's no padding for small hits and bumps.

Eh ... I sound like a saleman. Just thought you'd like to know if you're looking for a good bag.[/edit]

I use an A4 sketchbook(don't know the brand, paper is similar to a light brown not too grainy paper), a load of tool but I only use Artline 0.3 pen or HB pen. Nearly never my eraser, since I mostly drawn things that move(uhmm, people are not things. It's bad to call them like that. Bad, bad Orban!) in my bag.
The bad, bad thing is that I don't draw enough :evilbat:
