    CHoW#238 :: Post Apocalypse Paladin

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

    DESCRIPTION
The end of the world is nigh! As hell fills to the brim, the demons and nightmares begin to spill out into our world, decimating the world as we know it. An evil threat so great requires a special type of hero. A holy warrior equipped with the unique ability to vanquish the demons and monsters from existence; The Paladin. But years of fighting have taken their toll on resources and new Paladins must craft their righteous armor and holy weapons out of whatever scraps they can find.

Design a Paladin warrior for a Post Apocalyptic world

    Stuff to help:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paladin
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paladin_(disambiguation)
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apocalypse
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-apocalypse_Earth

    Things to remember:
    • Can be male or female
    • Can be any style (Fantasy, Steampunk, Sci-fi etc) but the world itself must be POST-APOCALYPSE
    • Must be clearly identifiable as a HOLY warrior (although the religion in of your choosing)
    • ADDITIONAL CHALLENGE: Paladins usually work alone so consider what they might do for company (Animal companion, Basketball etc)

    Good luck, and be creative!

mmm, I'm knee deep in DW5 at the moment but this sounds like a good diversion.

MatejaPetkovic: Great start! Looking forward to seeing where you take it. My only crit would be that right now he definitely has a weathered warrior look, but there's nothing saying "Paladin" about it. Needs holy symbols and personally when I think Paladin I think heavy armor.

Oh what a surprise, M already has one that looks awesome. Way to make it fair.

But here's mine! This weary paladin has been fighting the foes of the light for many long years and although his righteous spirit is undimmed his body has suffered many grievous wounds that have required crude cybernetics to repair.

Yay this is going to be so much fun! Good luck to everyone!

Trying to get the post-apocalyptic vibe without having to do background (Although I might do one anyway).

Doubt I'll be able to finish as I'll be out of town Thursday through Sunday evening.

I can't decide whether to go for a modern apocalypse (Mad Max) or a more medieval theme for this. Should I have a gun toting paladin firing guns or a fantasy paladin with a rusty mace? I feel that if I simply go for the modern one it will just look, well, post-apoc without the necessary fantasy element...

After a holy war against a cockroach last night, I felt inspired. Just some quick sketches to get a pose and general silhouette.

I like this topic. The post-apocalypse stuff always brings out some great characters.

This might be useful reference for someone wanting a sort of struggling and not-too-well armed character rather than a really experienced paladin:

Homemade guns made and used by (presumably) civilians during the siege of Sarajevo.
