you really study a loot that's for sure, one advice that i keep giving most of people is try and focus a lot on proportions they will make your characters looks great without you knowing anatomy that very well but keep on going

Update: The eggs and Bruce Lee picture were too big too scan, so I had to take a crappy camera shot.

Hey Matthew good to see you progressing so well. I think the egg study looks great, you have a good range of values and it has a delicacy to it which goes well as it eggs. One little crit is that the background on the left side of the skull seems to be the same value as the skull, so the skull, which looks good, is getting a bit lost in that area. Good update though, keep it up.

Hi Matthew, hope you don't mind me commenting.

You've made a huge leap in progress in the last six months thats amazing to see. That eggs study is beautifully shaded and you caught Bruce Lee's likeness really well. Great stuff.

Just wish you'd posted the transition stages so we could see how you've progressed, but no worries, you're doing great.

Good luck and keep posting! I reckon Lightship has the right of it and you'll be famous soon enough.

I wasn't happy with the first portrait that I did, so I tried again. Also we have some Hogarth studies.

Some doodles I did for fun. Both are supposed to be Orc faces. I didn't finish either one, really.

I really think that you're digging into those faces too much, especially the one of the dude with the beard. Try to pull it back some, and avoid over detailing. I think the next step is to start rendering out more of your drawings, you've shown that you can render just try doing it more...the lines make things flat. Anyway that's just what I've noticed, keep up the hard work!

It will be fun to do honestly mate come on you know you can, you cant just do still life for ever you will get mentally stale and jaded. Have fun with your art that's an ORDER soldier!!

Where did you go? You made a monstrous jump in proficiency near the end of your sketchbook. I do hope that you didn't stop drawing.
It took me like three hours to finish the shading on your upper lip. It's probably the best drawing I've ever done.

My sketchbook (it'll get good near the end)
