Hey Liberty, Thanks for stopping by my sketchbook. I think you are on the right track here. Splitting up your time between studies and drawing from imagination is exactly what you should be doing. I would try to squeeze some life drawing in there if you can. It's one of the best ways to improve your shape language so you can draw from imagination.

    n1frit - Will do

Lyraina - Thank you. As for heads, I`m struggling with proportions, so will have that in mind.

    Creusa -

Sushy - Thanks, I`m trying this and that with brushes to get rid of muddy values, but I guess its just a matter of eye not brush. Altho your suggestion is good.

Ninjac - Oh, thank you for taking time to comment and giving some advice, I will do life too then.

    B/W Again muddy i know

Ivi I'd like to see that drawing of the two horse-riders finished (I command you! j/k). It looks really good and filled up with potential.

About the muddiness, there is some on the edges but most of what makes up the figures themselves seems to be pretty non-muddy at all. Just not yet defined sufficiently.
Glad to see more works from you as of recently, keep up friend

    Cheerios,
    V.!

Hey, hey Liberty heartfelt thanks for your comment in my sketchbook. I have to say that I can really see the progress you've been making. I'm really impressed with the horses above and I also would like to see that one finished. Keep at it because you're doing great and don't forget to try to do at least 30 mins life study of anything everyday.

Looking good so far, don't be afraid of using more darker blacks and lighter grey, that will give your pieces some more depth and contrast.

Keep up with the great work!

You should add that word, it makes you more professional
Great update, the stream is becoming constant and somewhat frequent - good to see that

The first study looks good, reminds me a little of how suz does her studies.

    Cheerios,
    V.!

Good studies Liberty I think the eye study is one of your strongest. Nice contrast between the gloss/wetness of the eye and some subtle texture in the skin. You started to in some areas but it could use a bit more texture, think of how skin looks close up. You can also try some master studies of old master paintings in greyscale or full color to help build your mark making, value, and color confidence.

    @ Kerah - thank you.

    @ Creusa -

@ Ninjac - Oh one more study to add, no problem. As for texture, I rly didnt know how to tackle that so I dodged it, shame. Thank you very much for help.

I think today was the first time I lost my nerves doing arts, so weak... That was somewhat rushed out.

Dropping this fast before I go.
I spent about an hour struggling with proportions, and about another one to do some values.

    Take care all.

MAD updates master! Your last study is very good, things start to pay off maybe? Hmm, I believe in this study you were actually able to bring more darker values into the work than in your previous ones which were highlighted with their middle-tone like quality. Perhaps you should try to usher in more of those into your works? Would like to see something more complete of yours and out of your own creative brain!

    Cheerios,
    V.!
