Next is the Trond battle suit.

Cyborg Whale: Whalehammer - Now with figure prototype!

The battle suits were created especially to combat the thread of the Whale-Human Alliance. A Trond in a battle suit reaches the about the same height as an infantry whale allowing the Tronds to fight on equal ground. Powerful force fields offer protection against most weapons but even more importantly protect the pilot from the psychic assault of a whale on the pilots mind. This means a Trond pilot can always split different tasks of operating the suit between his two brains. This gives the suits an extremely high reaction time in combat and also allows them to fire at multiple targets in different locations at the same time.
However the shields offer no protection from the powerful telekinetic blasts some whales can produce. The suit has a variety of energy weapons and missiles against both human infantry and whales in exo suits. A powerful jump pack lets it jump up to 150 meters.

    Thanks meelton!
Here is one more vehicle for the villains:

Cyborg Whale: Whalehammer - Now with figure prototype!

Trond Battle Pods: The Trond Battle Pod is the primary air combat unit of the Trond army. It can operate both in space and inside a planets atmosphere. Its multi missile launcher can fire both air to air and air to surface missiles. The large energy cannons on the back provide additional firepower against individual targets. However the Battle Pod does have no protective shielding against psychic attacks making it vulnerable when fighting against the whales. However it is more designed for fast hit and run support of the other Trond forces then prolonged fights with enemy forces. The Air Pod has some limited walking capabilities and is sometimes used as a small tank to support infantry units.
A Trond pilot can use his two brains to fire at multiple targets at the same time or perform amazing aerial manoeuvres with his pod when not disturbed by psychic attacks.

Here is the final unit of the Trond army. Next I will work on some human troopers and then its back to designing the whales again.

Cyborg Whale: Whalehammer - Now with figure prototype!

Trond Elite Suits: The Trond Elite Suits are the most powerful units in the Trond army. While slightly smaller then the standard Trond Battle Suits they are broader and better armoured. Their four legs also provide better stability and enable them to carry more weapons then any other Trond unit. Like the standard battle suits they have shields that prevent them from psychic attacks from the whales. They are however still vulnerable to telekinetic attacks. But the strong armour of the suit’s cockpit can only be penetrated by the most powerful telekinetic whale. The Trond Elite Suit is reserved for high ranking pack leaders and is a rare sight on the battlefield. However it is one of the few things that can scare even an infantry whale.

And here are all the units of the Trond army side by side:

Here is an animation I made with these characters. I went for a toonstyle animation because I thought it would fit the characters nicely. There is quite a bit of text to read in the beginning but it gets quite action heavy in the end. Or at least as action heavy as my humble animation skills allow me to do. :-)

Here are some screenshots from the animation:

Thanks for checking this out, Hauke

That was awesome! Really cool to see the static character sculptures brought to life. Seems like that whale could use some kind of a face shield though, looks awfully exposed there.

Thanks! I really enjoyed animating those guys. As you said it is as if they come to life. Yes the whale should probably wear a helmet but then again I think the whale being so ridiculously exposed is what makes the whole concept so funny. :-)

Here is the latest animation I made to promote my Mechawhales characters. This one introduces the Alien Bionic Warrior as well as the Narwhale. It also features the Orca again in a more prominent role. I am not really an animator so again the animation is a little bit rough. I hope you enjoy it anyway. Done with Softimage and After Effects.

I LOVE the concept and execution! It's funny and badass at the same time. That's why I'm into concept arts - to see fresh thing and visions that I wouldn't imagine. From now on whenever I see a sea creature I will wonder - how will it look in mecha-suit?
