Lets try this again..
Ok so it's probably been years since I've started a sketchbook thread. but I'm going to give it a go again (also cause I think my old sketch threads have been long deleted)
Some more recent work.

yeah, on a side note you can find more of my stuff from last 1-2 years on this site. I'm running out of space to put my work so In the future I'm probably going to stop posting my work there.

Ok most recent work. I painted a face from someone's deviant art. If you want to call 4 and half hours a speed paint then I guess it's a speed painting then.
this is the outline sketch I did today.

and here is the painted face. Too lazy to finish the whole thing. I think ill call it quits and start a new painting tomorrow.
I also have the reference photo here.

Update: Ok so I realize I still need more work on faces overall. Did a few today with references, on average I think i spent around 30 minutes average on the last 3 faces (Photoshop crashed so I took longer than expected to do one of the faces). Contrast was low so I upped it with auto contrast after I did this.

update, stinks I just started this sketch book and It's already been 2 days I forgot to post something.
I have this fugly attempt at painting Bruce Lee I kinda quit on. Seems like getting accurate colors of people without cheating is really difficult.

Before you work on colours, might I suggest going back to soley pencil works...? Just do pencil studies for now, THEN go back to coloured studies, as your colours tend to be too heavily saturated and with weak value. Just my input.
Otherwise, keep going, good luck!

Alright then, I guess Ill keep working then. Ill go back to blk and white digital painting, I already have plenty of pencil works, but due to my laziness and lack of a immediate access to a scanner I stopped posting my pencil works online.

It's been so long since I updated anything on this thread I really don't want to know. Well tonight I was bored so I did a speed painting (3-4 hours) of this dude portrait. No references were used It was done all from memory. and a little inspiration from
FYI, although it might seem like I don't practice much art because I never post in here I do, It's just that I'm to lazy to scan anything for review and do art on my own time. I'm more of a stalker on concept art nowadays anyway now.

I figure I might as well post this oil painting I did a few months ago while I'm here. Yes I probably should get a bigger picture of it.
This was the image source I studied from.

#17 is a very interesting choice for a painting, I think. I really like how you rendered the light on the kid's forehead. His eyes could use some shading, though, as they really pop out in your painting.

Thanks Zaccrokett, when I painted the kid I decided to leave whites of the eyes unshaded. I just seems he gets your attention more like that. I know that realistically people's eyes aren't that bright but I kind of like it that way.

Keep it going man! it is nice to see that you are using traditional mediums, all the best
