Long time not being here it seems, I need to congratulate for your job
I like the bird in the last update, the monster saying hi - and your figures. You always worked diligently and it pays off. It's good and inspiring to see you grow. I hope I didn't write this lately but it's my strongest thought and feeling whenever I come here

Great to see a lot of studies i really enjoy it. Try to more focus on value and lighting I think you are a little bit afraid about cast shadows.

this is it for today. not much time.
the smaller character isnt what i wanted it to be. and there could be more shadows to define better the big guy.
but at least is a step toward character interaction and storytelling.

    feeling talkative today

soo... this daily update thing is hard! so little time to draw!

but im kinda happy. even with so much things do to im keeping a semi-consistent work ethic.
and im happy mostly because ive finally realized what i was doing wrong.
i wasnt thinking. i was just drawing.
i think at one point i decided that it was better to do brainless doodles than not draw at all. but since apparently im past the point where i need to force myself to draw, now i need to go back to thinking.
i wasnt doing any of that before.
i must focus now on getting back to learning. constant thinking of what makes a drawing better, constantly analyzing my weakness, and constantly tackling them.

(or maybe is just talk and im still dumb! only time will tell...)

    with that said.
    any crits?
digital lines are tricky. im just trying to push some elements closer by doing thicker/darker lines,
im no good with details and patterns yet.
also feel like the lines left the pose too still.....

Lines are easy to make, its where the line goes that is the problem. Sign up for life model drawing or painting sessions. Drawing from life improves your perception of the subject; the more you draw from life, the better your intuition of proportions and anatomies will become, and it also applies to still lifes. The more still lifes you draw such as glass, porcelain, flowers, and etc, the more you will know how to render certain forms-forms that may be glossy, matte, transparent, or translucent. All of these knowledge will be easily recalled in your mind when you want to draw imaginary subjects with similar form.

    kevin_ thank you!!!

Vay - indeed man. my intention is not to trample structure with line quality,. tho sometimes i must admit i let that happen.
my intention is to keep both of them.
    thanks for the crit man!

talking about life drawing! these are from yesterday

i feel like mys tuff changes too much(style) depending if its from life or imagination, i wonder if thats good or bad....

I'll speak english so as not to alienate anyone and such. I see alot of progress from your earlier stuff. Specially on the digital side.
Keep working on your studies and on your value balance!

its pretty cool. some awesome teachers, there is a great energy around illustration, i think thats what i was looking for!

    yo!
    so,
the piece, with the red dude.
im kinda lost in it right now. i was going with red-purple to make him pop, but the whole piece just looks out of sync.
im not to sure what went wrong/what to fix.
im thinking of adding warmer shadows on the room...
    any help please?

-edit- holy crap, only now i realized the crazy oversatured yellow in the middle of the banana-/edit-

Some very solid life drawings here, I especially like the variation in line width. This is the time to crack out a book on anatomy, learn about bones and muscles, and try to see specific markers on your figures during life drawing.

I also really like the sketches of the guys with the swords in your latest post, very blade of the immortal ,

The banana study is also very nice

    Gleisson C. - haaaa thanks!

black-swan - thanks man! everytime i think i have the smallest grasp on anatomy people keep telling me to study it more! seems like im not gonna reach the end of this whole, it probably doesnt even have an end! anyways, thanks! back to the books!
PS. ive never heard of blade of the immortal until you told me. so....

i havent posted here in a week.
i feel like i just completed a circle here.
i was a little down this week. didnt draw anything. kept getting pissed at the conceptual side of art.
seems like all my steam from starting college faded, so this was a "recovery" week. i somehow feel the vibe again, and im ready for the next round. i gotta push it so i can hold longer then a few weeks!

sorry for the shitty ass pictures

Nice updates, the stuff from imagination is a lot of fun to look at, I wish I could draw from imagination like that. If you've had a shitty week, just put it behind you, work through it- everybody feels the same once in a while

Omg, seems that it's been AGES since I've last stopped here, little by little you are becoming a machine! It's great to see how your lines and shadows are developing thanks to your studies, it's about time for me to move my ass and make something. Great updates!

Please, check my SKETCHBOOK and leave feedback. I want to improve!
