so is it?
i'm about to go see it... in about an hour. if someone can tell me if its worth it before i go i'd appreciate it.
Hmm hellboy out now... cant wait untill its out here in Denmark.
Lemme know how good is it
It had fun watching it and therefore I feel vindicated in seeing it, but don't expect the end all, be all adaptation of the books. The story in the first half was really well done... but I felt it got weaker nearer the end.
Visually the movie is great though. Loved mini Hellboy in the beginning...
Anyway, I am not going to gripe about the story too much. I liked it as flicks go.
meh...it was entertaining, I guess. I agree with Toaster, it got very weak by the end; even the big fight at the end was nothing great special-effects wise (damn you, John Gaeta!) And I could not see any representation of Mike Mignola's style, except for perhaps Abe Sapien. Why didn't they do a 2D animated series instead of a live-action feature?....And for some reason, I found Ron Perlman in all his red latex glory and deep voice to be incredibly hot. Were those latex muscles, or were they real? *sigh*
i liked it
it was better than i was expecting, so maybe thats why i like dit so much lol
the characters all looked really cool, abe sapien being the best i think
they did a pretty good job of not overusing CG, just using it for those shots that needed it.
overall a very entertaining movie
I wont fail now
Pretty enjoyable! Although if your going to see the movie expecting an +A performance drama, and great pacing, then perhaps look somewhere else. The action was solid, and strong characters.
I thought Ron Perlman was great for the role, he captured exactly how I would envision Hellboy from the comics. The comedy was the strongest point in the movie for me, the one-liners were awesome.
I've never read the comic and only now am I being introduced to Mike Mingola and his art (which is outstanding) and I can't wait to see this movie. I have to admit that I was skeptical before knowing that it was based on a very specific comic plotline. At first I thought it was just 'League of Extraordinary Gentlemen' meets 'MIB.'
yea i have to admit it wasnt as good as i thought it was gonna be---but a valiant attempt all the same
there were some holes in the plot and the pacing got weird in the middle and threw me off
great visuals/cg/make up etc etc
hopefully theyll do a sequel and improve on the weaknesses

i personally enjoyed it a lot...i had a huge grin the entire time...
I was expecting it to not be very good, just on par with most comic movies... so I was riding on the notion that it would be fun.
but it was not that fun.
I know nothing of hellboy... I like Magnola, but mosty 'cause of his concepts for atlantis.
I mostly just saw it to see Wayne Barlowe's monster design.
don't feel like I wasted my money, just not a timeless or legendary piece.

I'm with Sammy on this one; was feeling a lot of areas that could have been better.
