kevin_ - Thank you very much Kevin! it's funny, sometimes I enjoy making and doing things in that style. But a lot of the time it bugs me as I feel like it's my way of hiding real problems behind a style.

Pigeonkill - Thank you, I actually find it easier to think about light like that, in blocked in shapes haha

mistersomes - Cheers, but does that mean you wont like how this one turned out? it's very different from how it started. haha thanks for the comment!

Here is how far I have gotten with this dragon piece, I wanted it to turn out more realistic and atmosperhic than it was heading so i changed my approach and carried on in hopefully a more realistic way. but of course i took liberties with the lighting to try and achieve the look i wanted. i dont know, I have spent too much time on this, what do you guys think?

Hey man! Great job so far!! A really great sketchbook indeed! I really like the doodle too.A crit for the battle scene would be a really small and ague one , since you're still in a very basic stage in the painting - I'd say to watch for those proportions. The ogre guy looks kind of weird, in particular the size of the head and his left arm.For now that's all I can say , but I'm definitely looking forward to the end result.Looks like it's going to be an epic image

I second the left arm looking MASSIVE. Of course he could just really LIKE his left hand haha!. His head COULD be that big if he was ULTRA BUFF, maybe. Not sure. But the muscles on the left hand for sure could be turned down from an "11" to a "9"

Also who is the main ogre attacking? Somebody off the painting? or the guy in front. I keep looking off image because he is looking that way... I mean if he is gonna bonk the guy right in front of him i think he is too close for his weapon to have maximum damage. Only if it was mean for the bearded an in front of him, though!

    As always, really good stuff.

Yuss! thanks for the crits guys! That ogre guy is definitely getting an overhaul. his left arm is a bit embarrasing really :o I'm thinking I will actually redraw his pose and try some other things out. his swing will totally miss that guy!!. sorry no pictures this time, I haven't got anything right now. just wanted to say i appreciate the crits and comments!!!
