    Aye look-a here ...

    Hello everyone,

and welcome to my humble sketch thread, these wont be ver refined sketches or studies since I am travelling (just finished my second year in Australia and in New Zealand now) and really only scribble visionary memories, add notes to later on have everything in it to turn it into something more elaborate.
    But as for now, enjoy!

and here we go for the first few, I guess thats how it works, post replies to show your stuff. Sorry never really done much more than surf others sites since going on my journey.
I dont keep my sketchbook in chronological order so the pieces come as I chuck them in there - just in case some may marvel over the jumpy dates on some.

1 - coverpage of my sweet sketchbook, thanks again to my dear friend Meli who gave this to me as a xmas gift.

2 - 'Mangroves', Roebuck Bay, Broome - AUS

    3 - 'Mum'

4 - flock of seagulls, they are literally invading Hyde Park in Sydney, sitting there you better not eat ... vicious birds.

5 - infamous Sydney Opera House

    hey! great start!
I'm amazed at the deatiling of the trees.
Btw, did you draw the stylized kangaroo in the cover?
I really like that one. It reminds me of Inuit art.

Thanks for you reply, and the roo on the coverpage (along with the note) was done by my friend who gave this book to me as a gift for my travels. So you could call it a personalised not. =)
The mangroves took me about 2 days works to do with a fineliner .

3 - Tai Chi, sitting in the park I watched this elderly lady practise her Tai Chi, amazingly graceful and in her own time and space.

Sometimes to me a sketch is more notes than actual drawing; and a rough color sketch and more detailed head study of Kurajong YHA, Dubbo lovely backyard dog. Poor lonely thing.

Something old ... due to rainy days uninspiredness.

First two are what can be called Dandaragan files, I drew them in my sparetime working on local peach and nectarine orchard, not much of such occasions back then. Gum Nuts and Conroy illustration ("Good Murder" novel).

Last is from my 'The Ugly Tourist' series, still in the idea phase, but it'll come - characters like these are what you encounter travelling and leave you shaking your head in wonder.

    Lovely weekend everyone

tronrobot - thanks for your comment; yeah, will have to see how much refined work I can actually do travelling, but once I got a due payment in I will def head into an art store down in Wellington to get some equipment. Plus there's a thing calles 'Open Studios' coming up where you can visit artists studios, galleries and all that, might try get some involvment going there as well.

Have a look at my SketchbookThanks!
