    Best animation software??!!

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone knew the best software to use to create animations for a cartoon Im making. I have an awesome idea for a cartoon, I have the story, all of the characters, and storyboards, but Im not sure what program to use to bring my idea to life. A free downloadable package would be great of course, but I dont mind paying for it if it would make it better. Any advice????

In digging around for other stuff I've come upon Anime Studio and Toon Boom for making animations. I know you can at least get a free trial of both of those. I'm not sure how good they are but it's worth a try. About 5 or 6 years ago a game came out called The Movies for pc, and it was a game, sorta reminiscent of the Sims 2, but you could make your 'movies' into longform effective cartoons. It was neat and I played the hell out of it. it's old and obsolete but still pretty fun.

Let the Music be your master, will you heed the Master's call?

I think GaBi is the best animation software. It has powerful tools and databases for product and process sustainability. I like it.

I really enjoy Toon Boom, but that is the only all digital software I have experience with. Otherwise I enjoy animating old school style.

Anyway, Toon Boom is great IMO. What I love about it is how similar it feels to traditional animation techniques.

If your doing traditional animation, Photoshop or toon boom in my personal experience are the best programs for animations. Beside from those, I would highly recommend flash as well.

edit* OH! I forgot about this one as well, I really love this one too:

Here's the tutorials to get started:

    It's closer to traditional animation.
